Tigerettes Advance in District Tournament

The DCHS Tigerettes have advanced in the District Tournament after beating Livingston Academy 9 to 2 Tuesday.

DeKalb County scored 9 runs on 7 hits and made 1 error. The Lady Wildcats scored 2 runs on 4 hits and made 1 error.

The Tigerettes scored 6 runs in the 5th inning and 3 runs in the 6th inning. Livingston Academy scored 2 runs in the 6th inning.

Kenzie France was the winning pitcher.

Allison Maynard had a double. Maddison Parsley had 2 singles and Megan Walker, Kenzie France, Braya Murphy, and Kristena Bain each had a single.

The Tigerettes will face Upperman on Wednesday at 3:30 p.m. in Watertown




Tigers Defeat Bees on Walk-Off RBI in District Tournament

The DCHS Tigers remain undefeated in the District 8AA baseball tournament after beating Upperman 2 to 1 Monday in Smithville.

Each team scored 1 run in the 3rd inning and the game remained tied until the bottom of the 7th inning. With runners at 2nd and 3rd base, Skyler Sparks stepped to the plate and delivered the game winning single which drove in Grayson Redmon from 3rd base on a walk-off RBI.

John Maynard was the winning pitcher with 11 strikeouts in the game.

The Tigers are 2-0 in the tournament after having defeated York Institute 11-0 on Friday.

DeKalb County will meet their next opponent in the tournament tonight at 6:30 p.m. in Smithville and WJLE will have LIVE coverage.




Tigerettes Win District Tournament Opener

The DCHS Tigerettes won their opening game of the District Softball Tournament beating Cannon County 12 to 1 Friday in Smithville.

The Tigerettes scored 12 runs on 9 hits and made 1 error. Cannon County scored 1 run on 2 hits and made 2 errors.

DeKalb County scored 2 runs in the 1st inning, 6 runs in the 2nd inning, and 4 runs in the 4th inning. Cannon County scored 1 run in the 3rd inning.

Emme Colwell was the winning pitcher

Kenzie France had a homerun. Megan Walker, Allison Maynard, and Kristena Bain doubled. Jonie Robinson had two singles and Maddison Parsley, Kenzie France, and Emme Colwell singled.




Tigerettes Fall to Cookeville

The DeKalb County Tigerettes lost to Cookeville Tuesday 7 to 6.

Cookeville scored 7 runs on 8 hits and made 3 errors. DeKalb County scored 6 runs on 7 hits and made 3 errors.

The Tigerettes scored 3 runs in the 2nd inning, 2 runs in the 3rd inning, and 1 run in the 6th inning. Cookeville scored 2 runs in the 1st inning, 3 runs in the 3rd inning, and 2 runs in the 6th inning.

Madison Whitehead was the losing pitcher.

Kenzie France and Emme Colwell each had a homerun. Joni Robinson, Megan Walker, Braya Murphy, Emme Colwell, and Kenzie France singled.




Tigerettes Stung by Lady Bees

The DCHS Tigerettes lost at Upperman 5 to 3 in the regular season finale Monday at Baxter.

Upperman scored 5 runs on 9 hits and made 1 error. DeKalb County scored 3 runs on 11 hits and made 1 error.

The Lady Bees scored 1 run in the 1st inning and 2 runs in the 3rd and 4th innings. The Tigerettes scored 1 run in the 1st, 3rd, and 5th innings.
Emme Colwell was the losing pitcher.

Allison Maynard and Kristena Bain each had a double. Maddison Parsley had 2 singles. Megan Walker with 3 singles and Kenzie France, Braya Murphy, Emme Colwell, and Kelly Roberts each singled.
