Kimberly Faith Fuson

Kimberly Faith Fuson age 63 of Smithville passed away Tuesday morning October 30, 2018 at Centennial Medical Center in Nashville.  She was born September 9, 1955 to her parents, the late Roy Smith and Ameena Ruman Howe.  She was a restaurant worker and a member of the Lutheran Church.  In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her son Gary Lee Fuson, II.  Funeral Services will be held 11:AM Saturday at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Larry Steffee officiating and burial to follow in the Bonham Cemetery.  Visitation with the family will be Friday 4 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday 9:AM until time of the service at 11:AM.  Survivors include: Husband of 32 yrs. Gary Lee Fuson of Smithville; Children: Nicole (Robert) Bruhn, James Fuson, William (Sarah) Fuson all of Smithville, Danaelle Pace, Michael Morris both of Detroit, MI., Maria Fuson of Danville, VA.; 14 Grandchildren; 9 Great-Grandchildren; 3 Brothers: Roy (Sherry) Smith of Smithville, Keith (Kathy) Smith, Mark Smith both of Clawson, MI.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Shirley Ann Foutch

October 31, 2018

80 year old Shirley Ann Foutch of Alexandria passed away Tuesday at Signature Health Care in Cookeville. She was retired from Designs by Norvell and a member of the Coopers Chapel Baptist Church. The funeral will be Friday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Anderson Funeral Home. Freddie Curtis will officiate and burial will be in Hillview Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday from 2-8 p.m. and Friday from 10 a.m. until the service. She was preceded in death by her parents, Rep and Vinnie Johnson; her husband, Jimmy Foutch; her first husband, Joe Allen Cubbins; a daughter, Gelonda Marie Cubbins; brothers and sisters, Oval Johnson, Donald Dop Johnson, Emily Athalee Johnson Fathera, Jim Wade Johnson, Annie Loraine Johnson, Charlie Wash Johnson, and James Uel Johnson. Survivors include daughters, Melissa and husband Dwight Gee of Elkmont, Alabama and Monica and husband Wendell Fowler of Carthage. Grandchildren, Adam Farler of Huntsville, Alabama, Tyler Foutch of Carthage and Wesley Fowler of Carthage. Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria is in charge of the arrangements.




John Richard Wright

October 29, 2018

66 year old John Richard Wright of Smithville passed away Monday at his residence. He was a U.S. Army Veteran. The funeral will be Thursday at 2 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Tuesday from 5-8 p.m., Wednesday from 10 a.m. until 8 p.m., and Thursday from 10 a.m. until the service at 2 p.m. He was preceded in death by his father, Hubert Douglas Wright and step-father, Jerry Leasure. Survivors include his wife, Kathy Phifer Wright of Smithville. Three daughters, Stacy and Ronnie Taylor, Julie Wright, and Mary Wright and fiancé Tim Sharp all of Smithville.  Mother and step father, Lucy and Eddie Lawrence of Smithville. Seven grandchildren, Emily and Aaron Matthews, Matthew Wright, Olivia Barber, Nick and Mikayla Wright, Mercedes Barber, Ashton Wright, and Keegan Taylor. Two great grandchildren, Isaiah and Camden Wright. Five step-grandchildren. Siblings, Robert and Tina Wright of Hohenwald, Judy and Gene Jackson of Smithville, Dave and Debbie Wright of Hohenwald, Cheryl and Randy Campbell of Liberty, and Kenny Wright of Livingston. Half-siblings, Jeri Ann and Kerry Parker of Alexandria, Laura and Thomas Terrell of Elyria, Ohio. Several step sisters, step brothers, cousins, nephews, and nieces also survive. Nonnie Vanderpool Tramel

88 year old Nonnie Vanderpool Tramel of Smithville passed away Sunday at NHC Healthcare Center. She was a homemaker and a member of the Dry Creek Baptist Church. The funeral will be Tuesday at 1 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Donald Owens will officiate and burial will be in the Snow Hill Baptist Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from noon until 8 p.m. and Tuesday from 9 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Jim and Mattie Bonham Vanderpool; husband, Riley “Frosty” Tramel; five brothers, Frank, Bill, Steve, Paul, and J.D. Vanderpool; and three sisters, Annie and Ida Vanderpool and Flonnie Fletcher. Survivors include four sons, Ralph and Peggy Tramel of Smithville, Reece and Maggie Tramel of Dowelltown, Riley and Peggy Tramel of Liberty, and Bruce Tramel of Smithville. One daughter, Cathy and William Bumpous of LaVergne. Nine grandchildren, Charlie and Brenda Tramel of Liberty, Crystal and Michael Young of Smithville, James and Stephanie Tramel of Centertown, Amanda Tramel of Smithville, Adam Tramel of Rock Island, Katrina and Michael Yost of Smithville, Brandon Tramel of Alexandria, Jamie and Mark Trusty of Murfreesboro, and Keith Hutchings of Manchester. Eight step grandchildren, Tina and John Woodall of Indiana, Tammy and Mike Kijanski, Nitia and Jason Wagner, and Brandy and Sean Higgins all of Smithville, Darren Rhea of Dowelltown, William, Bobby, and Jennifer Bumpous all of Nashville. Twenty great grandchildren, two great great grandchildren. Two sisters-in-law, Ruby Carter of Smithville and Evelyn Vanderpool of Murfreesboro. Robert “Big Ed” White

Robert “Big Ed” White age 48 of Smithville, passed away Tuesday night, October 23, 2018 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER.  He was born January 20, 1970 to his parents, the Charles and the late Diane Smith White.  He was a Baptist and worked with H&H Grave Service for several years.  He is survived by his wife, Jennifer White of Smithville; son, Matthew White of Smithville; 2 daughters, Savanah White and Sarah White both of Smithville; father, Charlie White of Alabama; 3 sisters, Charlene White of Hendersonville, Mary Spangler of McMinnville and Shelia (Paul) Clayton of Alabama; mother-in-law, Renny (David) Stinson of Bon Aqua; father-in-law, Jimmy (Jeanine) Atnip of Cookeville; 2 brothers-in-law, Jimmy Atnip, II (Stephanie Barber) of Smithville and Derrick (Megan) Stinson of Sevierville; sister-in-law, Jamie Goodson of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive.  The family has chosen direct cremation and a Memorial Service will be held 3:PM Monday, October 29, 2018 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating.  Visitation with the family will be on Monday 11:AM until the time of the service at 3:PM.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Thomas B “Pete” Tubbs

81 year old Thomas B “Pete” Tubbs of Smithville passed away Wednesday at NHC Smithville. He was a member of the Church of Christ and a construction worker. Visitation will be Saturday at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home from 10 a.m. until the service at 1 p.m. The family has requested a private graveside service that will be limited to immediate family only. He was preceded in death by his parents, Robert and Mittie Lee Everette Tubbs; two brothers, James Johnson and Charles Johnson; and a sister, Inez Tubbs. Tubbs is survived by three children, Timothy “Tito” Fitzgerald Tubbs and his partner Gordon of Washington D.C., Gregory Alan Tubbs and his wife Renita of Cookeville, and Anthony “Amp” Eugene Tubbs and his wife Angela of Smithville. Four grandchildren, Emisha and Dontey Gay of Cookeville, Anthonique Tubbs of Murfreesboro, Demond Tubbs of Cookeville, Barien Tubbs of Cookeville. Five great grandchildren along with a host of nieces, nephews, cousins, and friends also survive. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, the family has requested monetary donations be made to Love-Cantrell Funeral Home to assist them in providing Pete with an adequate funeral service. All donations will be greatly appreciated by the family.
