Charles Wilson Love

Charles Wilson Love age 75 of Smithville, passed away Sunday night September 13, 2020 at his home. Mr. Love was born September 15, 1944 to his parents, the late Charlie and Louvella Love. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a brother, Carl Love and sister, Judy Love Merriman. Mr. Love was a Baptist and a sports enthusiast. Mr. Love is survived by nephew, Don Merriman of Smithville; niece, Shawna Davenport of Murfreesboro; special family, Shawn (Angela) Puckett of Smithville. Funeral services will be 1 PM Friday September 18, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Shannon Cantrell officiating and burial to follow in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday September 18, 2020 at 11:AM until the time of the service at 1:pm. Due to the COVID-19, the Governors Executive Orders 38 and 51 Social Distancing Guidelines; Our pews in the Chapel are marked off to respect the guidelines and allow approximately 100 -125 people for the service, we ask for the health and safety of everyone that you please exercise Social Distancing. The Funeral Home Lounge is Closed and NO Food or Drinks are allowed in the funeral home. In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Juanita Anderson

September 15, 2020

Juanita Anderson entered her heavenly home on September 14, 2020 at the age 95. The family will receive friends at Dekalb Funeral Chapel, September 17th from 11a.m.-1 p.m. with a Celebration Of Life following at 1 p.m.

Mrs. Anderson was born on October 31, 1924 to the late John and Martha Hacker. In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her husband George Anderson, Jr. She is survived by her loving children Donna Anderson, Gail (Jim) Morrill, Karen (Mike) Kidd, John (Jamie) Anderson, Deeanna (Bill) Wall, Tim (Melody) Anderson, her grandchildren, great-grandchildren and sister Gail Antonelli.

She loved the Lord with all of her heart and loved her family. She enjoyed reading and studying the Bible, cooking her family’s favorite meals and spending time with them. Her home was a warm and welcoming place to all who entered.

She was a courageous woman who exemplified grace and strength. She will be missed desperately, but never forgotten and the impact of her life will be known for generations to come.

Due to COVID 19 and Social Distancing Guidelines, our pews in the chapel are marked of to respect the guidelines and allow approximately 100-125 people for the service. We ask for the health and safety of everyone that you please follow social distancing guidelines. Our lounge is closed at this time and No food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home.

Sherry Faye Johnson Thatcher

Sherry Faye Johnson Thatcher age 59 of Smithville passed away Thursday, September 10, 2020 at her home.

Mrs. Thatcher was born on May 25, 1961 in Detroit Michigan to her parents, the late James & Dorothy Keene Johnson. Also preceding her in death is a sister, Karen Smith. She worked as an Ophthalmic Technician and attended Smithville First Baptist Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, September 12, 2020 at 1pm from the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Andy Patterson will officiate with burial to follow at Prosperity Cemetery. There will be no visitation held prior to the services. Family and friends will gather at the funeral home at 1pm on Saturday for the funeral. Due to Covid-19 precautions, social distance measures will be observed. We are temporarily not accepting food in our kitchen facilities.

Survivors include 2 Sons, Travis (Chelsie) Bryant of Smithville & Tristan Bryant of KY. 4 Grandchildren, Tyler Bryant of Sparta, Everett Bryant of Smithville, Jackson Bryant of KY & Annabelle Bryant of Sparta. Half Brother, Ray (Frances) Daniels of Cookeville. Good Friend, Robert Bryant of Gordonsville.

Darlene L. Summers

Darlene L. Summers age 78, passed away Tuesday September 8, 2020 at Centennial Medical Center. She was born September 24, 1941 to her parents Delbert and Dessie Reeder. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husband, James L. Summers; son Terry Austin; great-granddaughter, Trinity Faith Summers; 8 brothers and sisters. Ms. Summers worked as a store clerk and attended Allen’s Chapel United Methodist Church and Smithville First Freewill Baptist Church. She is survived by 3 children, Jimmy Summers, Timothy Summers (Tammy Horsley), and Patty Summers Warner (Curtis Adams) all of Smithville; grandchildren, Ricky Warner, Jr., Dustin Warner (Carrie Carol), Scott Austin, T. J. (Jo) Summers; great-grandchildren, Sean Austin, Trinton Summers, Gracie Summers, Makenna Warner; brother, Odell Reeder of Lebanon. Funeral services will be Saturday September 12, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel at 2 PM with Elder Ricky Arnold officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Saturday 10:AM until the time of the service at 2 PM. Void Beshears, Jr.

Mr. Void Beshears, Jr. age 83 of Smithville, TN passed away Tuesday night, September 8, 2020 at his home.

Mr. Beshears was born on October 6, 1936 in Smithville, TN to his parents, the late Void, Sr. and Ophia Waggoner Beshears. Also preceding him in death is a Brother, Eugene Beshears & a Sister- Bobby Murphy. He was retired from Smithville Manufacturing Company and was a Farmer.

Graveside Service & Interment will be on Friday, September 11, 2020 at 11am at DeKalb Memorial Gardens with Bro. Leonard Herman officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday, September 10th from 5-8pm at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. There will be no visitation held on Friday at the funeral home. Family and friends will gather at the cemetery just prior to the 11am service. Due to Covid-19 precautions, social distance measures will be observed. We are temporarily not accepting food in our kitchen facilities.

Survivors include his Wife of 63 years, Patricia Hibdon Beshears of Smithville, TN. 2 Brothers- Jimmy (Louise) Beshears of Smithville, TN & Don (Norma) Beshears of Ashland City, TN. Mother-In-Law- Cecil, Williams of Smithville, TN. Bro-In-law- Rayburn (Brenda) Hibdon of Woodbury, TN. 2 Sisters- Wanda Blair of Cookeville, TN & Lestel (Jack) Cantrell of Lebanon, TN. Several Nieces & Nephews also survive.

In addition to flowers donations can be made to Lighthouse Christian Camp in memory of Mr. Beshears




Mark Anthony Graham

September 8, 2020

Mark Anthony Graham age 50 of Smithville, passed away Monday night, September 7, 2020 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER from injuries received in a motorcycle accident. He was born November 17, 1969 to his parents, Barbara Gora Graham and the late James Garey Graham. He was a Christian and worked for several years for Pirtle Nursery. Mark is survived by 2 children, Kaylee Braswell and Lillian Graham both of Smithville; mother, Barbara Gora Graham Carter of Irwin, PA; 3 siblings, Michael Graham of Collinsville, MS, Melissa Geuy of Urbana, OH, and Michelle (Chuck) Rihn of Irwin, PA; fiance, Candice Daniels of Smithville; several nieces, nephews, aunts, uncles and cousins also survive. The family has chosen a direct cremation and a Memorial Service will be 1 PM Thursday, September 10, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating. Visitation will be Thursday 12 Noon until the time of the service at 1 PM. In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Animal Coalition. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
