Jane Tittsworth Rawls

Mrs. Jane Tittsworth Rawls, age 85 of Hermitage, Tennessee, passed away Monday, October 14, 2019.

Mrs. Rawls was born in DeKalb County, Tennessee to the late Haskell Brown Tittsworth and Maudell Parker Tittsworth.  She retired from the State of Tennessee after thirty years of service.  Mrs. Rawls was selfless, family oriented, and a great cook.  She loved reading good books.  She was an excellent wife, mother and “Morning.”

In addition to her parents, she is preceded in death by her two stillborn children, Lee Brown Rawls and Gary T. Rawls; brother, Billy Eugene Tittsworth; and sister, Ellen Faye Cantrell.

Mrs. Rawls is survived by her loving husband of sixty-four years, Jim “Sonny” Rawls; daughter, Jennifer Rawls; grandson, Jackson Rawls; sisters, Betty T. Hale and Sandra T. Jones; brother, Brownie (Lillian) Tittsworth; best friend since 1953, Becky Malone; and numerous beloved nieces and nephews.

A Celebration of Life will be at Hibbett & Hailey Funeral Home on Saturday, October 19, 2019 at 2:00 pm with visitation prior from 10:00 am until the time of service.

A Celebration of Life will also be held at DeKalb Funeral Chapel in Smithville, Tennessee on Sunday, October 20, 2019 at 3:00 pm with visitation prior from 12:00 pm until the time of service.

In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to the Nashville Public Library Foundation, 615 Church Street, Nashville, Tennessee 37219, or to the Justin Potter Library, 101 South First Street, Smithville, Tennessee 37166.

Lillian Nichole Ward

Lillian Nichole Ward age 47 of Smithville and a former resident of McMinnville, passed away Sunday, October 13, 2019 in Smithville.  She was born October 19, 1972 to her parents, Charles Edward White and the late Lisa Northcutt White.  In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by her husband, Vernon Ward; grandparents, Orange and Opal Northcutt; nephew, Chris Ward; niece, Crystal Rogers; mother-in-law, Ruth Ward.  She was disabled.  Survivors include children, Kimberly Ward of Smithville, Chandra Ward and Zachary Ward both of McMinnville; grandchildren, Lyberty King, Averyona King, Taylor Reeder, Parker Ward; dad, Charles Edward White of McMinnville; brothers, Charlie White, Jerry White and Eric White all of McMinnville; nieces and nephews, Johnathan and Alyssa White, Brittany andHunter Pinkard, Eric Rogers, Jason and Jeffery Ward, Jessica Roop and Brandon Cripps.  Funeral services will be 4:30 PM Wednesday, October 16, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow in Bethany Cemetery in McMinnville.  Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday 12 Noon until the time of the service at 4:30 PM.  In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to help with funeral expenses.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Ruby Nell Reynolds

Ruby Nell Reynolds age 92 of Dowelltown passed away Sunday morning October 13, 2019 at N H C of Smithville. She was born October 14, 1926 to her parents, the late William Carl and Geneva Walden Gibbs. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, John Martin Reynolds; children, Grace Murphy, and John Robert Reynolds; grandchildren, Annetta Kilgore, and Ronnie Lee Murphy; sister, Margie Reynolds; brothers, Jr. Gibbs and Danny Gibbs. Ms. Reynolds was a member of Faith Congrational Methodist Church, worked in factories and was a homemaker. She is survived by her children, William Floyd (Willie Jo) Reynolds of Liberty, Bernice Hendrixson of Dowelltown, and Helen Rose (Mark) Blanchard of Dowelltown; 14 grandchildren; 26 great-grandchildren; numerous great-great-grandchildren; sisters, Irene Jennings of Hermitage, DeEtte Shelton of Dowelltown, Jewell Ponder of Smithville, and Alma Montgomery of Dowelltown; brother, Billy Gibbs of Dowelltown; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 2:PM Wednesday October 16, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Salem Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday, October 15, 2019 1:PM until 8:PM and on Wednesday 10:AM until the time of the service at 2:PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Earl Wayne Raymond

Earl Wayne Raymond age 72 of Smithville passed away Monday, October 7, 2019 at his residence. He was born August 18, 1947 to his parents, the late B.L. and Helen West Raymond. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his wife, Nell Raymond. Earl was a member of the Mt. Hope The Baptist Church and a nurseryman. He is survived by 2 sons, Brian (Kristin) Raymond of Kentucky and Adam (Amy) Raymond of Smithville; 4 grandchildren, Thomas Raymond, Brianna Raymond, Aniston Raymond, Alexis Raymond; 2 sisters-in-law, Flora Mai Adcock and Marie (Jimmy) Taylor both of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 11 AM Friday, October 11, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dwight Knowles officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday 4 PM until 8 PM and Friday 9 AM until the time of the service at 11 AM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to the Whorton Springs Cemetery Fund, in memory of Mr. Earl. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Joshua William Murphy

Joshua William Murphy the 6 month infant son of Patricia Sowell and Cody Murphy, passed away Saturday, October 5, 2019 at his residence.  In addition to his parents, he is survived by 1 sister, Maliyah Murphy; grandparents, Darrell (Brandy) Murphy of Murfreesboro, Dawn Murphy of Florida, William Sowell (Amy Hunter) of Nashville, and Kristi Olvey (Shane Dawson) of Liberty; great-grandparents, Clara Murphy of Smithville, Sharon Tingay (Jimmy Campbell), Hazel Johnson of Smithville, and Harold Murphy of Smithville; several aunts and uncles also survive.  Funeral services will be 12 Noon Thursday, October 10, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Ric Lee officiating and burial will be in Spring Hill Cemetery on Tuesday, October 15, 2019.  Visitation with the family will be on Thursday 9:AM until the time of the service at 12 Noon.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.  



Kathryn Byford

Kathryn Byford age 74 of the Short Mountain Community, passed away Wednesday, October 9, 2019 at her residence.  She was born May 21, 1945 in Kentucky.  Kathryn was a nurse at DeKalb Hospital and was affiliated with the Brethren In Christ Church.  She was preceded in death by her parents; husband, John R. Byford and several brothers and sisters.  She is survived by 2 children, George Lee (Lisa) Byford of Dowelltown and Deanna (Stacy) Guy of Sparta; 8 grandchildren, John Curtis Adams, Jarrett Adams, Jesse Adams, Johnathon Byford, Brandon Byford, Heather Wilson, Daniel Wilson, Jennia Wilson; 10 great-grandchildren, Gavin Adams, Shaylah Dowell, Autumn Byford, Jasmine Byford, Trent Byford, Riley Simms, Adikus Cox, Brayden Lawson, Kegan Ruthledge and Mykenzie Wilson; sister, Wanda Petersen of Texas; special nephew, David Gipson and many nieces and nephews.  Funeral services will be 11:AM Saturday, October 12, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Larry Steffee officiating and burial will be in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.  Visitation with the family will be on Friday 1 p.m. until 8 p.m. and Saturday 9:AM until the time of the service at 11:AM.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
