Jimmy Maurice Tubbs

Mr. Jimmy Maurice Tubbs, affectionately known as “JT”, was born June 27, 1948. He was the oldest of 8 children born to the late Edward Tubbs. Jr. & Dorothy Marion Tubbs. He was born in Lebanon, TN at Martha Gaston Hospital.

Jimmy attended the first African American School Rosenwald in Alexandria, TN in his early years. He also attended Wilson County Training High School in Lebanon, TN until segregation was abolished in DeKalb County. He then attended DeKalb County High School were he graduated class of 1966.

Jimmy was drafted into the United States Army in 1968. He served as a Private First Class. He was a member of the 4th Infantry Division Stationed in Vietnam. Jimmy was injured March of 1969.

Upon his return home, he married Jacqueline Hancock in February of 1971. From this union, a daughter was born, Andrea Charese Tubbs.

Jimmy gave his life to Christ and became a member of Grace Bible Church. Despite his injuries, he defied all odds at every turn. He continued to live life to the fullest.

He is preceded in death by 2 brother-in-laws, Floyd League, Jr. & Lewis L. Bass & 1 niece, Martisha A. League. Jimmy is survived by his Daughter, Andrea (Harold) Keeley & his adoptive Daughter, Tori Garrett. 2 Grandchildren, Jalissa (Damion Roddy) Tubbs & Kierra Tubbs. 1 Great Grandson, Jamion Maurice Hendrix Roddy. Brother, Eddie (Maureen) Tubbs. 2 Cousins/Brothers, Ronald (Angela) Eddings & Billie Don (Nancy) Bohannon. 6 Sisters, Doris League, Sandra Bass, Brenda Savage, Linda Gail Neal, Yvette (Randall) Carver & Tina (Bryan) Tubbs-Peebles. 4 Nieces & 4 Nephews, Host of Great Nieces /Nephews, Great Great Nieces/Nephews, Cousins & Friends.

Funeral Services will be held on Saturday, July 17, 2021 at 1pm from the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Deacon Darren Dilligard & Eulogist, Bro. Roy Cason will officiate and burial will follow at Dowell Cemetery in Alexandria, TN with Military Honors provided by the Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation with the family will be on Friday from 5-8pm & Saturday from 12 until the service time at 1pm.

Argie Nell Lamberson

Ms. Argie Nell Lamberson age 91, of the Temperance Hall Community passed away Saturday night, July 10, 2021 at her residence. She was born February 20, 1930 to her parents, the late Bill Yancey and Allie Claro Page Malone. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband, George Lamberson; brother, Sammie Malone; 4 sisters-in-law, Ogal Trusty, Frankey Mosley, Helen Hanks, Dean Winnard; aunt, Alta Lee Page Close; Godchild, John Charles Mosley. Ms. Lamberson was a Baptist and worked at the shirt factory. She is survived by nieces and nephews, Lois Winnard Page, Kevin (Mary Lou) Page, Michael Trusty, Tanice (Larry) Fox, Ronnie Hanks; cousins, Paul Close, Doris Estes, Marjorie Patterson; 1/2 cousin, Betty Ann Barnes; Godchildren, Declan and Lilah Quintero; special friends, Betty Jean Agee, Marion Starr Driver; special caregivers, Terry and Glenda Hall and family. Funeral services will be held Thursday July 15, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel at 11:AM with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in Hillview Cemetery. Visitation will be Wednesday 4 PM till 7 PM and Thursday 9:AM until the time of the service at 11:AM. In addition to flowers, donations can be made to DeKalb Animal Coalition, in memory of Ms. Lamberson. The funeral home lounge is closed and NO food or drinks are allowed anywhere in the funeral home. Audrey Parker Owens

Funeral services for Mrs. Audrey Parker Owens will be 3:00 P.M. Tuesday, July 13, 2021, at Immanuel Baptist Church in Lebanon with Pastor Evan Owens, Bro. W. D. Thomason and Pastor Jeff Pratt officiating. Interment will follow at Wilson County Memorial Gardens with Bro. Nathan Hale and Bro. Stan Edwards officiating. Visitation Monday 3-8 PM and Tuesday 1-3 PM at Immanuel Baptist Church.

Mrs. Owens, age 86 of Lebanon passed away Saturday, July 10, 2021, at her home.

Born November 4, 1934, in Smithville, Tennessee, she is the daughter of the late Charlie and Anna Bell Curtis Parker. She was a devoted pastor’s wife, mother, and grandmother. She was a member of Dry Creek Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a brother, Buddy Parker, and a grandson, Destry Nave.

She is survived by her husband of sixty nine years, Bro. Donald Owens; three children: David (Mary) Owens, Terry (Nancy) Owens, and Krisa (Jason) Bush; grandchildren: Joel (Erin) Owens, Evan (Megan) Owens, Grant Owens, Callie (Ethan) Farley, Jake Bush, and Jordan Bush; great grandchildren: Colbie Owens, Murphy Jane Nave, Rhett Owens, Mack Owens, and Maeve Farley.

Dustin Jay Bain

Dustin Jay Bain age 40, passed away Saturday July 10, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. He was born March 12, 1981 to his parents, A. J. and Carol Ann Napier Bain. He was preceded in death by a sister Stacey Powell; grandparents: Thurman Napier and Honest and Jewel Bain. Mr. Bain worked in Tool and Die. He is survived by his children: Canaan Bain of Smithville, Katilynn Bain of Smithville, and Adalyn LeAnn Bain of Hartsville; parents: A. J. and Carol Bain of Smithville; grandmother: Donna Napier of Smithville; sister: Nena Cantrell of Smithville; special sister: Samantha Napier of Murfreesboro; nephews: Dayne Powell of McMinnville and Raven Cantrell of Smithville; several Aunts, Uncles, and Cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held 1 PM Wednesday, July 14, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday 12:Noon until 7:00PM and Wednesday 9:AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. Judith Gail Robins

Ms. Judith Gail Robins, age 77 of Liberty, TN passed away early Sunday morning, July 11, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital.

Ms. Robins was born on September 16, 1943 in Tacoma, WA to her parents, the late Clyde & Cecile Golden Mannie. Also preceding her in death is her brother, Terry Mannie. She was retired as a cashier in the restaurant industry and was a member of the Smithville United Methodist Church.

Funeral Services will be held on Thursday, July 15, 2021 at 11am in the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday, from 4-8pm & on Thursday, from 9am until the service time at 11am.

Survivors include a Son, James Patrick (Cassie) Murphy of Woodbury, TN. Daughter, Kellie Jo (J.B.) Nokes of Liberty, TN. Grandchildren, Morgan Michelle (Johnathon) Murphy of Woodbury, TN, Brittany Nicole (Brian) Randolph of Walling, TN, Josh (Erin) Nokes of Murfreesboro, TN & Cristen (Jacob) Nokes of Woodbury, TN. Larry Eugene Rhoady age 62, of Smithville passed away Saturday July 10, 2021 at his residence. He was born February 9, 1959 to his parents Robert Boyd and Oneeta Maxine Bain Rhoady. He was preceded in death by grandparents: Bob and Lillly Mae Rhody and Clifford and Katy Bain; son: Larry Rhoady, Jr. Mr. Rhoady attended Center Hill Brethren In Christ Church and worked at the Cabinet Factory. He is survived his wife, Sandra Rhoady of Smithville; children: Jake (Emily) Rhoady and Jenna (Zac) Rhoady of Indiana; parents: Boyd and Maxine Rhoady of Smithville; grandchildren: Jaxon Rhoady, Eloise Rhoady, Harrison and Owen Marlette, Dalton and Chance Jones, Lila and Austin Rhoady; brothers: Ronald (Jan) Rhoady of Smithville, Michael (Ruthann) Rhoady of Morrison; sister: Judy (Jesse) Esparza of McMinnville; mother-in-law: Doris Caldwell; brother-in-law: Eddie Caldwell; lots of nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 3 PM Wednesday July 14, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Larry Steffee and Bro. Rick Stewart officiating and burial to follow in Gath Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday 3 PM till 7 PM and on Wednesday 10:AM until the time of the service at 3 PM. In addition to flowers the family ask donations be made to St. Jude’s Children’s Hospital.
