James Forrest Young age 57, better known as “F” passed away Sunday October 27, 2019 at his residence. He was born November 2, 1961 to his parents the late, Forrest Conger & Nettie Alice Vanhooser Young. He was a truck driver for the DeKalb Co. Highway Department and attended Smithville Church of Christ. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by sisters: Teresa Ann Young Cowen, Mary Jane Bretz & Sonya Renea Young Clark. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Wednesday October  30, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Jim Moore officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Tuesday 3 PM until 8 PM and Wednesday 11:AM until the time of service at 3 PM. Survivors include: Brother: Richard (Lesia) Young of Smithville; Nephews: Chris (Heather) Young, Aaron Estes, Daniel Stanley, Joey (Tracey) Cowen; Nieces: Allison Gail Young, Anna Cherry, Amanda Young, Randi Renea Dossett, Mary Alice Bretz; Great-nephews: Denton Young, Dalton Cherry, Caden Cherry, Bralen Rice, Caloeb Bretz, Zayden Dossett, Parker Cowen; Great-nieces: Trinity Young, Tatem Estes, Laylen Rice, LeAnna Cherry; Brother-in-law: Randy Cowen; 3 Half-sisters: Sammie Frazier, Brenda McBride & Elizabeth Smith. Thomas Earl Prichard, 76, of Alexandria, TN, passed away Saturday, October 26, 2019.

He was a wonderful husband, father, grandfather, and brother who cared deeply about his entire family and followed the teachings of Jesus Christ in all of his life’s work.

Mr. Prichard was born December 4, 1942, in Lebanon, TN.  Son of the late Elmer Earl and Freda Rose Avant Prichard, he was married to Marlene Scott in 1964.  A graduate of Liberty High School in 1960, he received an Associate’s Degree from Cumberland University and also attended MTSU.  He was a devoted member of West Main Baptist Church in Alexandria, TN.

Mr. Prichard is survived by his wife, Marlene Scott Prichard of Alexandria, TN; daughter, Beth (John) Geer of Brentwood, TN; son, Scott (Megan) Prichard of Magnolia, TX; grandchildren, Fredric Alpert, Olivia Alpert, Tyler Prichard, and Morgan Prichard; two brothers: Charles (Brenda) Prichard of Brush Creek, TN and Mike (Kaye) Prichard of Alexandria, TN; sister, Kayla (Chuck) Youngquist of  Lebanon, TN; aunt: Violet Davenport of Lebanon, TN; and many wonderful nieces and nephews.

Funeral services for Mr. Prichard will be conducted on Tuesday, October 29^th, at 1 pm at West Main Baptist Church in Alexandria, TN.  Brother Dusty Disimone will be officiating.  Interment will follow at the Hillview Cemetery in Alexandria, TN.

Visitation with the Prichard family will be at Avant Funeral Home in Alexandria, TN, on Monday October 28, 2019 from 5 pm until 8 pm.  On Tuesday October 29, 2019 the Prichard family will receive friends at the West Main Baptist Church in Alexandria, TN from 11:30 am until the service starts at 1 pm.

In lieu of flowers, the family requests that donations be made to The West Main Baptist Church Kitchen Committee.

Kenneth Ross Washer, age 82, of Smithville passed away October 25, 2019 at St,. Thomas DeKalb Hospital E.R. He was born November 15, 1936 to his parents the late Issac Euel and Katie West Washer. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by a sister, Margaret Ann Falls; brother, Carl Roy Washer.  Mr. Washer served in the United States Navy, was  a member of Sink Creek Missionary Baptist Church and retired from Center Hill Nursery. He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ola Fay Washer of Smithville; children, Carl Ross (Michelle) Washer, Ginger Elaine Moore both of Smithville, and Candy Nicole Redmon of McMinnville; grandchildren, Carla (Mark) Pedigo,  Amanda Washer, Amy Washer, Caden Washer, Parker Washer, Megan Redmon, Blake (Emily) Moore, Bella and Jake Standridge, and Bryson Pichey all of Smithville;  7 great-grandchildren; special niece and nephew, Kim and Jeff Falls; and a very special friend, Doris (Doc) Hibdon. Funeral services will be Monday October 28, 2019 at 11:AM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday 11 a.m. until 8 p.m. and on Monday 9 a.m. until the time of the service at 11 a.m. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.

Marie Young Colvert, 88, died on Sunday, October 27, 2019, at Signature Healthcare of Putnam County. A life-long resident of Smithville, Tennessee, she was born, September 9, 1931, to Charles and Bertie Turner Young. She was preceded in death by her parents; her husband of of 52 years, James Bass Colvert; son, Mark Alan Colvert; son-in-law, Marvin Puckett; brothers, Aaron Young (Eva Dean), Bernice Young (Sofia), and Austin Young (Evelyn); and sisters, Magdalene Young Allen (Alonzo) and Virginia Young Gill (Floyd). She is survived by two children, Beth Colvert Puckett, and Steve Colvert (Leigh); three grandchildren, Naith Puckett (Norene), Shea Puckett, and Sarah Beth Colvert; two great grandchildren, Nash and Nora Puckett; and a host of nieces and nephews. She was a devoted wife, mother, sister and aunt who will also be missed by her large extended family and her friends. She was a member of First Baptist Church in Smithville. Visitation will be on Monday, October 28, from 4 – 7 pm, and on Tuesday, October 29, from 11 am until time of funeral service at 1 pm at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will be at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. In addition to flowers, contributions may be made to Smithville First Baptist Church Youth Program.

Tilman Moss Campbell, age 73, passed away Wednesday, October 23, 2019 at Alive Hospice in Nashville. He was born to his parents the late Jimmy Moss and Beulah Campbell. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by his wife Mary Campbell; daughter, Brenda Campbell; step-son, Eric Goodson; brothers, Douglas Campbell, Tracy Campbell, and Jessie Campbell; sister, Dean Stanley. Mr. Campbell served in the United States Army, he was a Baptist and a nurseryman. He is survived by his daughters, Stacy Campbell of Smithville, Sandra Campbell-Baker. Brother-In-Law James Stanley, grandchildren, Kayla Mooneyham of Smithville, Brandon Baker of Murfreesboro, Abigail Baker of Murfreesboro, Joshua Baker of Murfreesboro, Jimmy Pirtle of McMinnville, Trevor Campbell of Smithville, and Hannah Cantrell of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Graveside service and interment will be  2 p.m. Monday, October 28, 2019 at Oak Grove Cemetery in McMinnville, Tn. Visitation with the family will be Monday 10 AM until 1 p.m. at DeKalb Funeral Chapel at which time will leave for graveside. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
