Andrew Paul “Andy Reichenbach

Andrew Paul “Andy Reichenbach was born June 10, 1980 in Columbus, Indiana to Jennifer and Dean Reichenbach. It was there that he learned to love Jesus, music, and sports. At Columbus North High School Andy loved playing on the basketball team and playing guitar in his band, The Lost Poets. Andy attended the University of Kentucky where he received a BS in Mechanical Engineering and an MBA. An internship with Ashland Oil started Andy on a career in the Oil and Gas industry. It was also at UK that in Andy’s words he “fell in love WITH the South and fell in love IN the South.” It was there he met Andrea Menendez and they would marry right after graduation. Andy’s career soon sent them to Houston, Texas where they settled. With multiple employers, Andy built and operated pipelines, pumping stations, and transfer terminals. To the end, Andy kept Jesus in his heart and wanted his friends to have the same experience. Andy is survived by his wife and daughter Andrea and Kate Reichenbach of Sugar Land, Texas; parents Jennifer and Dean Reichenbach of Smithville, Tennesse; brother, Peter Reichenbach of Knoxville, Tennessee; grandmother Jean Reichenbach of Bluffton, Ohio; and many loving aunts, uncles, and cousins. A memorial service was held at Christ the King Presbyterian Church in Houston on March 25. A second memorial service will be held at Ebenezer Mennonite Church in Bluffton, Ohio at 11:00 on Saturday, April 15. This information provided as a courtesy of DeKalb Funeral Chapel.




Mark Allen Adcock

Mark Allen Adcock age 57 of Indianapolis, Indiana passed away Wednesday March 29, 2023 in Indiana. He was born October 24, 1965 to his parents, Barbara Ann and the late Eldon Eudean Adcock. He worked at Indianapolis Bakery. He was preceded in death by his father: Eldon Eudean Adcock. Survivors include Mother: Barbara Adcock of Smithville; Brother: Jeff Adcock of Smithville; Sister: Kimberly Rogers of Smithville; Nieces: Liza Herriman, Ashley Davis; Nephew: Jordan Kennit; Great Nephews: Logan Herriman, Ashtyn Herriman, Miles Davis. Funeral services will be held 1:PM Thursday April 6, 2023 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bryan Jones officiating and burial to follow in New Union Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 11:00AM until the time of the service at 1:00PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Martha Wilson Fults

Mrs. Martha Wilson Fults, age 86 of Smithville, passed away Tuesday morning at her residence. She was a member of the Center Hill Baptist Church and retired from the Smithville Shirt Factory and an independent caregiver.

She was born on February 22, 1937 to her parents, Oscar Horace & Jessie Ann Bryson Wilson who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by a daughter, Patsy Fults, grandson, Patrick Fults, great-grandson, Kayden Fults, 3 sisters, 3 brothers and special nephew, Little Charles Wilson.

Visitation with the Fults family will be on Thursday from 4 to 8 pm and on Friday 10 until the service time at 1. Bro. Jonathan Willoughby will officiate and burial will follow in DeKalb Cemetery.

Survivors include 6 children, Russell (Helen) Fults, Ricky (Janie) Fults, Wesley “Bull” Fults, Jacky Fults, Diane (Jeff) Hardin and Jeff (Melodie) Fults, 22 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren, 4 great-great-grandchildren, special niece, Cindy “Poo” Duggin and seveal nieces and nephews also survive.

Ellen Geraldine Walls Clayton

Ellen Geraldine Walls Clayton (September 03,1945-April 02, 2023)

Ellen Geraldine Walls Clayton was born on September 03, 1945 to her parents the late Roy V. Walls and Nannie L. Adcock Walls, she was one of 15 children. Ellen joined our father in heaven on April 02, 2023.

Ellen is survived by her loving husband, Bro. Kenneth Clayton.

Ellen met Kenneth one week and married him the next. It was truly love at first sight.
Ellen married Kenneth Lester Clayton on February 17, 1962, and they enjoyed 61 years of marriage. Ellen was a loving wife, mother, grandmother, and great grandmother. Ellen provided nothing but unconditional love and unwavering support for her family.

You would be hard pressed to find a more charming, funny, and sharp witted woman than Ellen Geraldine Clayton. Ellen competed in Senior Miss America Pageants which introduced her to the Cameo Jewels. She performed with the Cameo Jewels and sang her favorite song ‘The Rose’ by Bette Midler. Ellen was a master in the kitchen, and she measured solely with her heart. She made a chocolate pie that would make Gordon Ramsey blush.

Ellen took great pride in her work as a receptionist at Middle Tennessee Radiology for 20 years.

Ellen was a member of Snow Hill United Methodist Church.

In addition to her parents, Ellen was preceded in death by 8 brothers and sisters; Janie Woodley, Tommy Walls, Clarence Walls, Gene Walls, James Howell Walls, Anne Farless, Thelma Webb, and Phillip Walls.

Ellen is survived by six children, sixteen grandchildren, sixteen great grandchildren, six brothers and sisters , and numerous nieces and nephews.

Children: Edie Brown, Ronda Butler, Kenneth Clayton Jr. , Daniel Clayton all of Smithville, and Lynn Green, Craig Clayton of Columbus, Georgia.

Grandchildren: Ashley Hawkins, Jason Brown, Stephenee Clayton, Leslie Watson, Madison Butler, Paxton Butler, Jesse Smith, Crystal Kiefer, Lindsey Brown, Ken Clayton, Kayla Clayton, Amanda Jones, Skylar Moore, Cash Clayton, Mason Clayton, and Josh Certain.

Great grandchildren: Ryleigh , Sarah , Susan-Grace Hawkins, Casey and August Butler , Brynlee Watson, Corie Rae Smith, Caroline and Abby Mae Kiefer, Cadence and Hazel Brown, Trinity and Josh Certain, Levi and Chloe Jones , and Blakely Marshall.

Brothers and sisters: Rita Walls, Kathy Scott, Verna Green, Dan Walls, Bobby Walls all of Smithville, and Wanda Hollis of McMinnville.

Ellen was loved and adored by her family.

Funeral services will be held Wednesday April 5, 2023 at 1:00PM with Bro. Perry Clayton and Family officiating at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in Snow Hill United Methodist Cemetery. Visitation will be Tuesday April 4, 2023 at 2:00PM till 7:00PM and on Wednesday April 5, 2023 at 10:00AM until the time of the service at 1:00PM. James F. “Jim” Sparks

James F. “Jim” Sparks, age 72 passed away, Sunday, April 2, 2023 at his residence in Smithville. He was born July 9, 1950 to his parents John Frank and Caroline Sheets Sparks. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by son-in-law, Brian Braswell; half-brother, Kenneth Sparks. Mr. Sparks grew up in a Catholic Church and worked in Construction. He is survived by his wife of 52 years, Janice Sparks of Smithville; 2children, Jennifer Braswell of Smithville, and Jimmy (Tonyia) Sparks of Smithville; grandchildren, Jerica (Dillan) Reeder, Bryson Braswell, Zack (Chelsey) Sparks, Kamien Sparks, Skyler Sparks; great-grandchildren, LaiKynn Sparks, Kaizlee Sparks and Kaide Frazier; brother, Dave Sparks of MI., half-sister, Teresa Norman of Ark.;half-borthers, John Sparks of Ark., and Bill Sparks of Ark. Funeral service will be held Wednesday April 5, 2023 at 11:00AM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Robert “Bobby” Brandon officiating and burial to follow in Burton-Ponder Cemetery. Albert Lee Fox

67-year-old Albert Lee Fox of Buffalo Valley died Friday at St. Thomas West Hospital . He was a forklift operator for L & W. Engineering . He was also a member of the Church of Christ. Fox was born to Carl Mitchell and Thelma Lucille Heady Fox in Jackson County, TN. He is survived by his children, Alanda Fox (Rael Sloan) of New York and Logan Fox of Buffalo Valley. His sister, Sallie Chaffin of Buffalo Valley. He is also survived by several Nieces, Nephews and friends. Albert is preceded in death by his parents, his wife, Miranda Joy (Mosely) Fox and siblings, Carl Fox, Jackie Fox and Betty Christian. The funeral will be Tuesday at 2:30 p.m. at Anderson Funeral Home in Alexandria. Chris Dickens will officiate and burial will be in the Brush Creek Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 3-8 p.m. and Tuesday from 12 noon until the time of the service. In lieu of flowers the family has requested that donations be made to Anderson Funeral Home to help with funeral expenses.
