Ruth Darnell Nokes age 58 of Smithville, passed away Wednesday night, February 28, 2018 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER. She was born July 29, 1959 to her parents, Frank Don and Ruby Hale Driver. She was preceded in death by her husband, David Nokes. She was a homemaker. Survivors include 3 children, Joe (Jennifer) Nokes of Smithville, Donald (Candice) Nokes of Lebanon and Crystal McCorkel of Indiana; 10 grandchildren, Amy Nokes, Sarah Nokes, Leeah Nokes, Derek Willey, Taylor Nokes, Jacob Nokes, Kaitlin (Justin) Harn, Christopher Rus, Timothy Rue and Alya Donatto; 2 great-grandchildren; parents, Don and Ruby Driver of Smithville; 2 sisters, Kathy Brown and Jeanette Cox both of Smithville and companion, Joe E. Watson of Smithville. Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Sunday, March 4, 2018 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial will follow in Mt. Ararat Cemetery at Pea Ridge. Visitation with the family will be on Saturday 2 PM until 8 PM and Sunday 10:AM until the time of the service at 2 PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.
Anna Rebecca “Becky” Vaden

Anna Rebecca “Becky” Vaden age 49 of Liberty, went home to be with the Lord on Saturday, Feb. 24, 2018. Born June 4, 1968 in Dayton, OH, she was the daughter of the late James Hubert Vaden and Betty Jean Slatton Vaden. She will be greatly missed by her surviving children, Chad Micheal Lawson and his wife, Desiree and Ashley Nichole Lawson and fiance, Kody Mobley. She also leaves behind her much loved grandchildren, Esther Lawson and Robert Mobley. She will be remembered by her ex-husband and life long friend, Jeff Brashears and a close friend, Clayton Andrews; her siblings, Jack Vaden and fiancee, Darlene Fox, Patricia and husband, Joe Caplinger, Danna and husband Joe Otte, Reba and Larry Crowell, Janet Vaden, widow of James Vaden, John and wife, Terri Vaden, Michael Vaden, Joyce and late husband, Tim Hopkins, Vickie Vaden (deceased) and Jeff Vaden. She is also survived by multiple nieces and nephews and large extended family and friends. We will miss her infectious laughter and her willingness to help her family and friends. Services will be from 2-4 p.m. Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Hunter Funeral Home, 208 West Main Street, Watertown, TN 37184. Burial will follow at the Poplar Hill Baptist Church Cemetery, 500 Tracy Road, Watertown, TN. In lieu of flowers memorials for funeral expenses may be given at the funeral home. Randall Hendrixson age 62 of Smithville, passed away Tuesday afternoon, February 27, 2018 at his residence. He was born May 15, 1955 to his parents, Louise Pinegar and the late J.D. Hendrixson. In addition to his father, he was preceded in death by 1 brother, Jerry Hendrixson. Randall was a Baptist and a nursery worker. He is survived by 3 sons, Michael Halls of Dowelltown, Daniel Halls of Nashville and Ricky Hendrixson of Smithville; several grandchildren; mother, Louise Hendrixson of Smithville; 3 brothers, Bobby (Joyce) Hendrixson of Dibrell, Phillip (Roxanne) Hendrixson of McMinnville and Ricky Hendrixson of Smithville. Funeral services will be conducted 2 PM Friday, March 2, 2018 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be on Friday 9 AM until the time of the service at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses, in memory of Randall. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Nina Rose Burgess age 74 of Smithville, passed away Sunday night, February 25 at her residence. She was born in McMinnville, TN on April 30, 1943. She was preceded in death by her mother, Agnes Powers, 1 daughter, Monica Lynn Burgess and 2 brothers, Jerry and James Raymond. Mrs. Nina was a member of the Lighthouse Baptist Church and a nurse. She is survived by her husband, Harlen Burgess of Smithville; 2 sons, Richard (Gracie) Burgess of Lebanon and Michael Burgess of Smithville; 4 grandchildren, Josh (Tristian) Burgess, Jason (Holly) Burgess, Amber (Sean) Doss and Bryan (Katelyn) Burgess; 5 great-grandchildren also survive. The family has chosen a direct cremation. A Graveside Memorial Service will be held 3:PM Saturday, March 3, 2018 at Gath Cemetery with Bro. Hershel Short officiating. Visitation will be Saturday, March 3, 2018 from 9:AM until 2:PM at which time we will leave to go to Gath Cemetery for the graveside memorial service. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

Jason Allen Bates age 42 of Smithville, passed away Tuesday February 20, 2018 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born January 7, 1976 to his parents, Harlon Lee Bates and Mary Carolyn Page Miller. Jason worked in manufacturing and member of the First Assembly of God in Sparta. He is survived by his mother, Mary Carolyn Miller of Sparta; father, Harlon Bates of Smithville; significant other, Louann Sanders; 2 brothers, Jeffery Lee Bates and Charles Christie Bates and 1 sister, Carol Sue Morse. The family has chosen a direct cremation and services to be announced later. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.

53 year old Trena Kay Barrett of Smithville passed away Friday at Centennial Medical Center. She was a Pentecostal and a homemaker. The funeral will be Monday at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Nathan Thomason will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday from 10 a.m. until the service at 3 p.m. She was preceded in death by her parents, Junior Estes and Clara Mai Johnson; and a sister, Diane Horn. Survivors include two sons, Eddie Farris of Smithville and Nathan Farris of White Bluff; a daughter, Susan and Gary Matthews of Smithville. Eight grandchildren. One brother, Wayne Estes of Smithville. Two sisters, Susan Maynard of Smithville and Christie Keaton of Woodbury. Step-father, Robert Farris of Smithville and good friend Wayne South of Smithville. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements. In lieu of flowers, make donations to Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in memory of Ms. Barrett to help with burial expenses.
