Bobby Jack Campbell

Bobby Jack Campbell age 86 of Liberty, passed away August 6, 2019 at his residence.  He was born January 16, 1933 in Liberty.  He was preceded in death by his parents, Odus Gilmore and Ora Nonnie Hayes Campbell and brother, Truman Campbell.  Jack was a member of Salem Baptist Church and a former deacon at Prosperity Baptist Church.  He was a retired postal employee and a farmer.  He was involved with the Farm Service Agency for 42 years and a board member of the Farm Bureau for 15 years.  He is survived by his wife of 66 years, Annie Bell Malone Campbell; son, Randy (Cheryl) Campbell; daughters, Carol (Jamie) Hale and Susan Johnson (Danny Bond); two grandsons, Jacob Hale and Joshua (Katie) Johnson; four granddaughters, Amy Hall, Cassie (Bradley) Brown, Leah (Damein) Schitter, and Kelley (Derek) Carter; twelve great-grandchildren, Katie and Tesa Hall, Lucas Hale, Hannah and Hailey Brown, Nathan and Jack Johnson, Olivia, Scarlett, and Adeline Schitter, Brayden and Kye Carter; one sister, Mary (Jimmy) Clark.  Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Friday, August 9, 2019 at Salem Baptist Church with Bros. Thurman Seber and Damein Schitter officiating and burial will follow in Salem Cemetery.  Visitation will be Thursday 4:PM until 8:PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel and Friday 1:PM until the time of the service at 3:PM at Salem Baptist Church.  In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Salem Baptist Church, in memory of Jack.  A special thanks to Kindred Hospice of Cookeville for their loving care of Jack.  DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Georgetta Lynn Binkley

August 5, 2019

Georgetta Lynn Binkley age 51 of Smithville passed away Sunday morning, August 4, 2019 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. She was born May 27, 1968 in Dunlap, TN to her parents, George Wright and the late Linda Shockley Wright. Linda was a Catholic and a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Clay Binkley of Smithville; son, Troy Binkley of Cookeville; daughter, Anna Marie Daker of Louisville, KY; numerous grandchildren; father, George Wright of McMinnville. Funeral services will be conducted 1 PM Wednesday, August 7, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday 11 AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to help with funeral expenses or to the family to help cover medical expenses. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Elaine Close

August 2, 2019

Elaine Close age 65 of Smithville, passed away Thursday August 1, 2019 at her daughter’s residence in Smithville. She was born March 7, 1954 to her parents, the late Nathan and Margaret Fine. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by a brother, Wesley Fine; a niece, and 2 nephews. Mrs. Close was a homemaker. She was a member at Cedar Key First Baptist Church and an Electa member of the Eastern Star. Mrs. Close is survived by her husband, Dwayne Close of Smithville; children, Brian Nathan Fine  (Leighann Francis) of FL., Shayna (Brandon) Taylor of Smithville, Kirby (Kyle) Morton of McMinnville; grandchildren, Bryce Francis, Orla Fine, Blake Fine, Bryli Fine, Caleb Taylor, Caley Taylor, Madison Taylor, Aubree Taylor, Kylee Morton, Kailyn Morton, Kamden Morton; sisters, Wanda (Doug)Castell, Patty Jo (Michael) Lackey, Carolyn (Frank) Mammano all of FL.,and Vickie Hobbs of Dowelltown; brothers, Daryl Nathan Fine and Jeff Fine both of FL.; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 4:30 PM Sunday August 4, 2019 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale and Bro. David Frazier officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Sunday 12 noon until the time of the service at 4:30 p.m.. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.



Eric Courtemanche

August 2, 2019

Eric Courtemanche age 42 of Smithville, passed away Tuesday afternoon at his residence. He was born October 29,1976. Eric was an electrician. He is survived by his father and step-mother, Roger (Linda) Courtemanche of Smithville; mother, Vickie Courtemanche of South Carolina;  daughter, Erica Reed of North Carolina; sister, Stephanie Courtemanche of North Carolina; uncle, Eugene Courtemanche of North Carolina; Aunt, Ann Carmody of CT.; Aunt, Terry Valenti of CT. The family has chosen direct cremation. A memorial service will be held at a later date. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.



Timmy K Woodward

July 31, 2019

Timmy K Woodward, 59, of Smithville passed away Monday, July 29, 2019, at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville . He was a servant to others who enjoyed laughing, joking, and living life. Tim was a devoted member of Willow Avenue Church of Christ (Cookeville, TN) where he taught bible class. He spent many years in church ministry and serving the community in various roles. He was strongly dedicated to his family, being a life-long supporter of his children’s activities and most recently spending time with his granddaughter. He was preceded in death by his parents, William Ray and Mae Elizabeth Neville Woodward; In-laws Edward and Mildred Briggs; two brothers-in-law Robert “Bobby” Briggs and Jimmy Briggs. He married Janet Lee Briggs on July 23, 1982, spending 37 years together. In addition to his wife, he is survived by two sons, Alex (Ashby) Woodward and Travis Woodward and special friend, Samantha Leiser; one daughter, Cynthia Woodward; and one granddaughter, Ainsley Woodward; two brothers, Freddy Woodward and Kathy Woodward and Jimmy (Lisa) Woodward; one sister, Billie Mae (Richard) Clark; sisters-in-law Susie (Amel) Delk, Patricia Briggs, and Traci Briggs. Many nieces and nephews also survive as well as numerous friends.

The funeral service will be on Thursday at 5pm at the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Visitation with the Woodward family will be on Wednesday, from 3-9pm and Thursday from noon until the time of service at 5pm. On Friday, visitation will be at Winn Funeral Home in Horse Cave, KY from 12-2 in KY and burial will be at Campground Cemetery in Cave City, KY. In addition to flowers, donations can be made to Cameron Miller Benefit Fund, Willow Ave. Church of Christ DeLoach Scholarship Fund or Campground Cemetery fund.




Margie Grace Drennan

July 30, 2019

Margie Grace Drennan age 32 of McMinnville passed away Sunday July 28,2019 at St. Thomas West Hospital in Nashville. She was preceded in death by her grandmothers, Miriam Landry and Margie Gayle Drennan and step grandmother, Alma Drennan. She is survived by her children, Darrell Ludwig, Abby Ludwig and Nate Patterson; Mother, Gabrielle Sanders of McMinnville; Father, David Drennan of Smithville; grandfather, J.R. Drennan of Texas; sisters, Heather (Terrence) Richardson of Shelbyville, Andrea (Chris) Lattimore and Skylar Drennan both of Smithville; brothers, Nicholas Drennan and Matthew Drennan both of Smithville. Several aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, and cousins and friend, Travis Patterson also survive; The family has chosen direct cremation and a memorial service will be held at a later date. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
