Tammy Lynn Gesford Starkey

Tammy Lynn Gesford Starkey age 38 of Smithville passed away Monday August 30, 2021 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital in Smithville. She was born August 7, 1983 to her parents Marvin Gesford, Sr. and the late Pamela Gesford. She was a member of Roundlick Baptist Church and a Customer Service Rep with Verizon. In addition to her mother she was preceded in death by infant brother Shawn Gesford. Funeral Services will be held 3 PM Friday with Bro. Dan Gulley officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation with the family will be Friday 1 PM until the time of the service at 3 PM. Survivors include her husband William Starkey of Smithville; 4 sons: Dakota Alexander Starkey, Logan Lewis Starkey, Zane Elliott Starkey and Brantley William Starkey all of Smithville; Father: Marvin Gesford, Sr. of Smithville; Sister: Lisa Siford of Martinsburg, WV; Brother: Marvin Lewis Gesford, Jr. Due to COVID-19 our lounge is closed and no food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home. Robin Pope Warren

Robin Pope Warren age 42 of Smithville, passed away Wednesday night, August 25, 2021 at St. Thomas River Park in McMinnville. She was born October 17, 1978 in Jackson, MS to Dwight Eugene Pope and the late Sherri Lynne Renfroe Pope. In addition to her mother, she was preceded in death by maternal grandmother, Mamie Lee McCoy Renfroe; nephew, Gavin Wolfe. She was a member of New Life United Pentecostal Church and a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Joshua Reed Warren; 2 children, Savanna Rene’ Warren and Owen Reed Warren; father, Dwight (Dawn) Pope; brother, Billy (Tammy) Pope; 3 sisters, Tracye (Clint) Trest, Rachel Pope and Anna Davis; nieces and nephews, Brandi Williams, Melissa Howell, Houston Trest, Henderson Trest. Funeral services will be 5 PM Friday, September 3, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Pastor Dwayne Cornelius officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Friday 3 PM until the time of the service at 5 PM. The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and no food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Denise Ann Duncan

Denise Ann Duncan age 57 of Smithville passed away Friday morning August 27, 2021 at her residence. She was born November 7, 1963 to her parents, the late Bernie Ray & Patricia Ann Clark Sweeton. She was a healthcare worker. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 brothers: Bobby Sweeton and Jeffery Sweeton. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Monday August 30, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with burial to follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation with the family will be Monday from 12 NOON until the time of the service at 3 PM. Survivors include her husband: Jimmy Duncan of Smithville; Children: Sabina Jauregui of Smithville, Raymond (Vanessa) Jauregui of Denton, TX., Trina Jauregui of Smithville, David (Veronica) Jauregui of Crossville; 1 Brother: Jimmy Sweeton of Winchester; 1 Sister: Theresa Sweeton of Decherd. In lieu of flowers the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses. Due to COVID-19, the lounge is closed and no food or drinks are allowed at the funeral home. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.




Nettie Lou Crook Judkins

Nettie Lou Crook Judkins age 84 of Smithville, passed away Friday night August 27, 2021 at NHC HealthCare Center in Smithville. She was born August 18, 1937 to her parents, the late Charlie and Lucille Miller Certain. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Jerry Judkins; a daughter, Brenda Bratcher; 2 sons, Glenn and Gary Crook; 2 sisters, Lois Puckett and Marie Wilson; 2 brothers, Lynn and Danny Certain. Ms. Nettie Lou was a retired healthcare worker and member of the Old Fashion Freewill Baptist Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, 1 son, Billy and wife, Ofelia Crook of Smithville, son-in-law, Frank Bratcher of Carthage; brother, James Certain of McMinnville; sister, Charlene Poss of Smithville; 11 grandchildren, 23 great-grandchildren and 13 great-great-grandchildren and several nieces and nephews. Funeral services will be 11:AM Tuesday, August 31, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bros. Frank Bratcher and Bryan Bratcher and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday 4 PM until 7 PM and Tuesday 9:AM until the time of the service at 11:AM. In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Old Fashion Freewill Baptist Church, in memory of Ms. Nettie Lou. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of the arrangements.




Gail Crook Cassetty

Gail Crook Cassetty age 77 of Watertown, died Tuesday, Aug. 24, 2021 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. Born Jan. 26, 1944, she was the daughter of the late Bessie Adams Harvey and Thomas W. Harvey and was preceded in death her husband, Paul E. Crook on Dec. 26, 2009 and a brother, Rickey Harvey. Gail was baptized into Christian faith at age 13 and was a member of Snow Hill Methodist Church. She was 1962 graduate of Watertown High School and was employed by B.F. “Jack” Lowery as a paralegal-secretary for 55 years. Gail is survived by her husband, Richard Leslie Cassetty, Sr.; stepdaughter, Sherri Dawn Cassetty; stepson, Richard (Marsha) Cassetty, Jr.; step-grandsons, Rickey and Eddie Cassetty; sister-in-law, Jean Goodwin; beloved nieces and nephews, faithful companion, Bojangles. Funeral services will at 11 a.m. Friday, Aug. 27, 2021 at Hunter Funeral Home with Bro. Rick Scott and B.F. “Jack” Lowery officiating. Visitation 2-8 p.m. Thursday and prior to services Friday. Pallbearers, Reagen and Ryan Scott, Don and Chase Cantrell, David and Gary Crook, Wayne Driver, Barry Beene, Nick and Josh Ramsey, Jimmy Morgan. Honorary pallbearers, B.F. “Jack” Lowery, Jack D. Tracie Lyndal Tramel age 44 of Dowelltown, passed away at her residence August 25, 2021. She was born September 4, 1976 to her parent Fred Curl and the late Bonnie Howell. Ms. Tramel was unemployed. She is survived by her daughter, Aaliyah Tramel of Smithville; 3 sisters, Angelia Louise Howell of Smithville, Annette Cox of Smithville, and Kelly Barnes of Smithville; brother, Joey Howell of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive. The family has honored her request to be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held Thursday September 9, 2021 at 1:00PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. Visitation will be Thursday September 9, 2021 at 12:Noon until the time of the Memorial Service at 1:00 PM. The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and no food or drinks are allowed in the building. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
