Peggy Ruth Keaton

Peggy Ruth Keaton age 71 of Liberty, died Sunday, Jan. 3, 2021 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. Born July 11, 1949, she was the daughter of the late Howard and Hettie Summers Thomason and was preceded in death by her sisters, Rebecca Gingerich and Charlotte Hayes; and brothers, Paul and Frank Thomason. Peggy is survived by her husband, Doyle Keaton of Liberty; son, Danny Keaton of Liberty; daughter, Joanie Blackburn and her husband, Chris of Auburntown; grandchildren, Tasha Bundy, Shaina (Darren Womack) Byars, Emily Keaton, Jordan (Hailey) Blackburn; great grandchildren, Tyler Vickers, Logan Bundy, Lexie Thomas, Hadley Womack; brothers and sisters, Jessie Thomason, Joe (Brenda) Thomason and Sue Trusty; nieces and nephews. Family and friends will gather at 1 p.m. Wednesday, Jan. 6, 2021 at Prosperity Cemetery for graveside services and interment with Bro. David Moody officiating. Pallbearers, Jordan Blackburn, Logan Trail, Eddie Williamson, Mark Walker, Darren Womack, Russell Estes; honorary pallbearer, Brian Bundy. HUNTER FUNERAL HOME in Watertown is in charge of the arrangements.




Fannie Bell Campbell

January 4, 2021

Mrs. Fannie Bell Campbell, age 91 of Liberty, TN passed away on Sunday, January 3, 2021 at Woodbury Nursing Center.

Mrs. Campbell was born on January 4, 1929 in Cannon County, TN to her parents, the late Silas and Sarah Ann Gilley Pitts. Also preceding her in death was husband: Truman Campbell; 1 son: Odus Clyde Campbell; 3 brother: Billy Pitts, James Franklin Pitts, and Jack Pitts; 1 sister, Louise Davis. She was a Christian, a farmer, and of the Baptist faith.

A graveside services will be held on Wednesday, January 6 at 2pm. Visitation with the family will be on Wednesday from 10am-noon then the graveside will be held at 2:00 at DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Due to Covid 19 precautions, social distance measures will be observed. We are not accepting food in our kitchen facilities at this time.

Survivors include 5 children: Raymond & Debbie Campbell of Brush Creek, Joan & JC Hughes of Auburntown, Rex Campbell of Auburntown, Joyce & Bobby Hendrixson of Smithville, Brenda & Rick Cantrell of Smithville. 14 Grandchildren: Shane & Rochelle Campbell, Kelli & Cary Lollar, Derrick & Amy Campbell, Cindy & Sam Garrison, Jennifer & Jason Brown, Cody & Kayla Hughes, Brian & Shelly Campbell, Robert Christopher Fletcher, Travis Hendrixson, Nelson Hendrixson, Janie Hendrixson, Cayla Cantrell, Chelsey Cantrell, and Carrie Hale; 18 great grandchildren; 2 great-great grandchildren.

Daphne Kay Sadler Brock

January 2, 2021

Daphne Kay Sadler Brock age 50 of Smithville passed away Wednesday afternoon, December 30, 2020 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital in Murfreesboro. She was born October 14, 1970 in Gallatin to her parents, the late Herbert Lavon and Virginia Rhea Mayfield Sadler. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by a stillborn infant son, Gregory Ray Brock. She was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Mark Brock of Smithville; children, Johnathan Brock, Jordan River Brock and Jenna Ray Brock all of Smithville; brother, Everette Sadler of Westmoreland, TN; sister, Gena Wright of Bethpage, TN. The family has chosen a direct cremation and a Memorial Service will be held 1 PM Thursday, January 7, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Thursday 12 Noon until the time of the service at 1 PM. Due to Covid-19 and social distancing guidelines, we ask for the health and safety of everyone that you please exercise social distancing. Jimmy Anthony “Tony” Davis

Jimmy Anthony “Tony” Davis age 60 of Smithville, passed away suddenly Thursday, December 31, 2020 at his home. He was born November 10, 1960 to his parents, Jimmy C. and Lois Knowles Davis. He was past owner of DeKalb Feed and Fertilizer, a farmer and member of the Whorton Springs Baptist Church. Tony was preceded in death by his grandparents, Everett Dallas and Hallie Tittsworth Davis, Elmer and Jessie Luna Knowles; much loved uncles, Jack, Frank, George, Bill and Bob Davis, Lovell and J.T. Knowles; 2 special aunts, Frances (Jack) Chinn, and Joyce Large. He is survived by his wife, Amy Davis of Smithville; parents, Jimmy C. and Lois Knowles Davis of Smithville; sister, Jackie Golden of Sparta; his girls, Kenslee and Niyah; step-son, Justin Allen; aunts, Marsceen Davis, Lenora Davis, Betty (Charles) Atnip and Ruth (Ronnie) Hobbs. Funeral services will be 1 PM Monday January 4, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. David Mahan officiating and burial will follow in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Monday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1 PM. In addition to flowers, the family asks that donations be made to Whorton Springs Baptist Church Building Fund in memory of Tony. Kenneth Wayne Owens

Kenneth Wayne Owens age 79 of Dowelltown passed away Tuesday night, December 29, 2020 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER. He was born July 22, 1941 in London, KY to his parents, the late Lewis and Retha Sharp Owens. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by 4 siblings, Kelly Owens, Elbert Owens, Lizzie Owens and Johnny Owens. He was a Baptist, U.S. Army Veteran and worked at Nissan for over 30 years. He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Jean Owens of Dowelltown; 4 children, Michelle Curtis of Dowelltown, Patrick Conners and Michael Conners both of Smithville and Teresa Owens of Kentucky; grandchildren, Crystal (James) Bogard, Cody Curtis, Colton Curtis, Destiny Conners, Mikey Conners and Ashley; great-granddaughters, Hannah Bogard, Brooklyn Barnes; brother, Henry (Gail) Owens of Kentucky and sister, Letha (Glen) Price of Indiana. Graveside services will be 2 PM Saturday, January 2, 2021 at DeKalb Cemetery with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and military honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. There will not be any visitation or services held at the funeral home, family and friends will meet at the cemetery for the graveside service. Linda “Janie” Gilbert

Linda “Janie” Gilbert age 74 of Doyle and a former resident of Smithville, passed away on Wednesday morning, December 30, 2020 at home with her family by her side. She was born December 24, 1946 to her parents, the late Miller and Jewel Clemons Cole. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Carl “Sonny” Gilbert; a brother, Duane Cole and step-daughter, Trena Satterfield. Ms. Janie was a homemaker, nursery worker, member of the Doyle Church of God and a long-time member of the Bethlehem Community Church. She leaves to cherish her memory, her daughter, Lisa and her husband, Bobby Robinson of Sparta; her son, Tony Ray and his wife, Carol Young, II; sister, Leta Charlene Austin of Doyle; son-in-law, Mike Satterfield; grandchildren, Ryan Robinson, Hannah Walls, Hailie Young. Carl David Gilbert, Jr., Carla Pelham and Cody Satterfield; great-grandchildren, Sawyer Pelham, Levi Sutton Walls, Sonny D. Gilbert and Callan Satterfield; special nephew, Shad Daniel Wilhite; 2 great-nieces, Kyla Russell and Cheyenne Perkins and best friend, Darlene. Funeral services will be 3 PM Saturday, January 2, 2020 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Mike Satterfield officiating and burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be on Saturday 1 PM until the time of the service at 3 PM.
