Dana R. Looper of Putnam County is seeking the Republican nomination for Circuit Court Judge – Part I for the Thirteenth Judicial District. This district includes Clay, Cumberland, DeKalb, Overton, Pickett, Putnam, and White Counties.

“I was raised in Clay and Overton Counties and would be honored to serve our community,” said Looper. “I started my working career, at age 15, fueling boats at Willow Grove Marina. Once I graduated from Livingston Academy, I attended Walters State Police Academy and began my law enforcement career at the Overton/Pickett County E911 and the Overton County Sheriff’s Department. After working several years in that community, I advanced my career to the Algood Police Department where I progressed through the ranks to become a sergeant over patrol and represented my department as the public information officer. While working as a police officer, I completed my undergraduate degree at Tennessee Tech University, and continued my education going to the Nashville School of Law at night. I reside in Putnam County with my husband Mike Burnette, my stepson Connor, our two dogs and goats,” said Looper

“My law practice is located at Fry, Fry, Knight, & Looper where I have developed the background and temperament to serve as your judge. It would be an honor to serve as the next Circuit Court Judge for the Thirteenth Judicial District. I humbly ask for your support and vote in the coming election. I am very excited to meet as many of you as possible,” Looper continued.

Looper said she has experience in Federal Court for the Middle District of Tennessee, Tennessee State Court of Appeals, and has practiced in many of the local jurisdictions that make up the 13th Judicial District.

The primary election is held on Tuesday, May 3, 2022.
