After starting the basketball season at 2-0 the DeKalb County Tigers have dropped the last six including Saturday night’s game at Cookeville 77 to 65. The Lady Tigers also lost to Cookeville 50 to 40 and have slipped to 3-5.
The Tigers found themselves trailing 22 to 9 after the 1st period and 52 to 33 by halftime. Cookeville led 65 to 51 after the 3rd period and won the game 77 to 65.
Lucas Hale scored 19. Dallas Cook 18. Michael Elswick and Evan Jones each with 8. Luke Jenkins 6. Dakota White 3, Elisha Ramos 2 and Jordan Young with 1.
In the girls game the Lady Tigers trailed 18 to 11 after the 1st period, 28 to 21 at halftime and 37 to 32 after the 3rd period before falling to the Lady Cavaliers 50 to 40.
Mya Ruch scored 11. Kadee Ferrell 10, Emme Colwell 9, Summer Crook and Megan Walker each with 3 and Megan Cantrell and Kenzie France each with 2 points.
The Tigers are now 2-6 overall and 0-2 in the district. The Lady Tigers are 3-8 on the season and 1-1 in district play.
DeKalb County will host Livingston Academy Tuesday night, December 17 in Smithville starting with the girls game at 6 p.m. followed by the boys game. WJLE will have LIVE coverage.
