Tigers Beat Macon in 2OT

The DCHS Tigers defeated the visiting Macon County Tigers in double overtime Friday night in Smithville 85 to 81 while the Lady Tigers lost 78 to 54.

In the boys game, DC trailed 23 to 20 after the 1st period but held a 37 to 36 halftime lead. Macon County took a 54 to 53 advantage by the end of the 3rd period. The game was tied at 66 at the end of regulation and 73 all after the 1st overtime period. DC outscored Macon County 12 to 8 in the second overtime to get the district win 85 to 81.

Dakota White scored 21 followed by Dallas Cook with 17, Lucas Hale 13, Brayden Antoniak 11, Evan Jones 10, Luke Jenkins 8, and Jordan Young with 5.

The Lady Tigers trailed 22 to 16 after the 1st period, 46 to 30 at halftime, and 63 to 41 after the 3rd period before falling 78 to 54.

Kadee Ferrell and Gracie Griffin each scored 11. Mya Ruch 8. Emme Colwell, Natalie Snipes and Hannah Willingham each with 6 and Megan Walker and Megan Cantrell each with 3.

The Tigers have a record of 5-12 (2-4 in the district) while the Lady Tigers are now 9-9 and (2-4 in the district).
