Tigerettes Finish 3-3 in Gulf Coast Classic

The DCHS Tigerettes finished 3-3 in the Gulf Coast Classic in Gulf Shores Alabama last week.

The Tigerettes defeated Prattville 5 to 1, Homewood 12 to 1, and Long 2 to 0 but lost to Demopolis 6 to 3, Pleasant Valley 7 to 3, and Hazelgreen 4 to 0.

In the first game with Prattville, the Tigerettes won 5 to 1 with 2 runs in the 1st and 4th innings and 1 run in the 2nd inning. Prattville scored 1 run in the 1st inning. DeKalb County scored 5 runs on 8 hits and made no errors. Prattville scored 1 run on 4 hits and made no errors.

Emme Colwell was the winning pitcher.

Megan Walker had a triple and single. Kenzie France and Emme Colwell had 2 singles while Joni Robinson and Kelly Roberts singled.

In the second game, DeKalb County defeated Homewood 12 to 1 scoring 9 runs in the 2nd inning and 3 runs in the 3rd inning. Homewood scored 1 run in the 1st inning. The Tigerettes scored 12 runs on 5 hits and made 2 errors. Homewood scored 1 run on 4 hits and made 1 error.

Kenzie France was the winning pitcher.

Allison Maynard and Kenzie France each had a triple. Joni Robinson doubled and Megan Walker and Emme Colwell singled.

DeKalb County dropped the third game of the Classic to Demopolis 6 to 3. The Tigerettes scored 3 runs in the 1st inning. Demopolis scored 1 run in the 1st inning, 2 runs in the 2nd inning, and 3 runs in the 3rd inning.

The Tigerettes scored 3 runs on 2 hits and made 3 errors. Demopolis scored 6 runs on 8 hits and made 1 error.

Hailey Redmon was the losing pitcher.

Kenzie France had a homerun and Megan Walker got a triple.

In the fourth game, the Tigerettes fell to Pleasant Valley 7 to 3. DeKalb County scored 2 runs in the 1st inning and 1 run in the 5th inning. Pleasant Valley scored 1 run in the 1st inning, 4 runs in the 3rd inning, and 1 run in the 4th and 5th inning.

DeKalb County scored 3 runs on 7 hits and made 4 errors while Pleasant Valley scored 7 runs on 6 hits and made 1 error.

Emme Colwell was the losing pitcher.

Megan Walker had a triple and single while Maddison Parsley, Kenzie France, Allison Maynard, Abbi Taylor, and Kristena Bain each singled.

The Tigerettes won the fifth game of the Classic beating Long 2 to 0 with 1 run in the 1st and 4th innings.

DeKalb County scored 2 runs on 7 hits and made 1 error. Long was held scoreless on 6 hits and made 3 errors.

Madison Whitehead was the winning pitcher.

Kenzie France had a double and 2 singles, while Joni Robinson, Emme Colwell, Kelly Roberts, and Kristena Bain each singled.

In the sixth game of the Classic, the Tigerettes lost to Hazelgreen 4 to 0.

Hailey Redmon was the losing pitcher.

Hazelgreen scored 1 run in the 1st and 2 innings and 2 runs in the 5th inning.

DeKalb County was held scoreless on 3 hits and made 1 error while Hazelgreen scored 4 runs on 4 hits.

Kelly Roberts had a double and Megan Walker with 2 singles.
