Saints Preparing for Post Season

The  Saints Soccer team enters the final week of the season with a 5-3 record.

After Spring Break, the Saints played host to non-conference foe, Warren County, on April 2nd.  After a back and forth battle, the Saints lose this one 3-2.
After the Saints gained valuable experience during the Red Raider Invitational on April 5th and 6th and the JV visited Prescott for a JV Playday on April 8th, next up was conference foe, the Prescott Bulldogs.  The Saints were on the road on April 11th where Brandon Silva came alive with two early goals.  West Schooler Jaxon Humphrey added another and the Saints looked ready to rock and roll with a 3-1 halftime lead.  Mario Mathias put one away in the second half giving the Saints a 4-1 advantage.  The final score was 4-2 in favor of the Saints.

The Avery Trace Raiders came to town on April 16th and outmatched the Saints in the first half by jumping out to a 2-0 advantage.  The Saints would not go away as they tack on two goals in the first ten minutes of the second half tieing the score, 2-2.  After much back and forth play, the Raiders put one in the back of the net in the final minutes handing the Saints another heartbreaking loss at Home.

The Saints were on the road to face the Upperman Bees on April 18th.  The Saints came out hot and rolled to a 5-0 victory.  Robert Wheeler, the Saints Varisty Goalkeeper, got a little taste of offense by getting a goal of his own!

The Saints have three games left in their final week.  8th Grade Ceremonies will be held at 6:00 P.M. before the game versus Overton Co. on April 23rd.  The Saints will travel to Smith Co. on April 25th and finish the season with a make-up game at HOME on Friday, April 26th at 6:00 PM.
The Saints are one win away from securing a spot in the Post-Season.
