DMS Cross Country Girls Win Oakland Invitational

The DeKalb Middle School Cross Country teams competed in the Oakland Invitational Cross Country Meet at the Grove venue in Murfreesboro on Saturday, September 7.

The girl’s team tackled the 2 mile course and crushed the competition finishing in 1st place overall out of a field of 13 teams and 148 runners. Their top 5 runners all finished in the top 15 giving them a total score of 23 points.

Ella Van Vranken placed 1st overall with a time of 13:02

Zoe Keys 2nd place : 13:23

Katherine Knowles 4th place: 14:00

Mylie Phillips 5th place : 14:18

Madeline Martin 14th place: 15:08

Sylvia Evans 71st place: 17:25

Sydney Polk 72nd place: 17:26

Sadie Moore 85th place: 18:00

Cadence Reynolds 89th place: 18:11

Summer Morse: 93rd: 18:19

Candice Rico 125th : 20:28

Mara Oakley 135th : 21:45

The boys team showed some strong performances even though they had a few runners absent at this meet. Two of the DMS boys placed in the top 20 out of a field of 224 runners.
