DCHS Teams Beat Red Boiling Springs

The DCHS Lady Tigers have improved to 3-1 with a 60 to 49 win over Red Boilings Springs in Smithville Tuesday night while the Tigers bounced back to even their record to 2-2 winning 61 to 36.

In the girls game, DC opened up a 22 to 6 lead after the 1st period and led 34 to 14 at halftime, 47 to 34 after the 3rd period and went on to win 60 to 49.

Ella VanVranken led the Lady Tigers in scoring with 24 points followed by Kadee Ferrell with 20, Madison Martin 7, Megan Cantrell 5, and Cadee Griffith and Hannah Willingham each with 2 points.

The Tigers led 18 to 8 after the 1st period of the boys game. DC held a 40 to 18 advantage at halftime and 50 to 23 after the 3rd period before notching a 61 to 36 win.

Luke Jenkins scored 18 for the Tigers. Evan Jones 14, Jacob Hendrix 7, Jordan Young 6, Elishah Ramos 5, Brayden Antoniak and Conner Close each with 4, Andrew Tramel 2, and Aiden Curtis with 1 point.

The Lady Tigers will travel to Grundy County Saturday, November 28 for a 4 p.m. game.

The Tigers will not be making the trip due to a Covid-19 case among the coaching staff.
