The DeKalb County Tigers won their region opener 67 to 58 against the Stone Memorial Panthers Friday night in Smithville but the Lady Tigers lost 67 to 54.
The Tigers trailed 20 to 16 after the 1st period but took a 34 to 22 halftime lead. DC held a 48 to 35 advantage after the 3rd period and went onto win 67 to 58.
Brayden Antoniak scored 18, Stetson Agee 15, Elishah Ramos 13, Robert Wheeler 10, Jordan Young 7, and Isaac Knowles 4.
The Lady Tigers trailed 11 to 8 after the 1st period, 38 to 21 at halftime, and 53 to 38 after the 3rd period before falling 67 to 54.
Ella VanVranken scored 22, Madison Martin 15, Avery Agee 5, Dare Collins 4, Natalie Snipes and Xharia Lyons each with 3, and Ally Fuller with 2.
The Tigers and now (6-2, 1-0) and the Lady Tigers are (5-3, 0-1)
