DCHS Golfer Anna Chew Bound for State Tournament

DCHS golfer Anna Chew won the Region 3, Large School High School Golf Tournament in Cookeville Tuesday firing a 5 under 65 to blow the field away. Anna, a senior, carded 7 birdies and 1 eagle enroute to a 6 shot victory.

Last week she won the District Tournament, this week the Region, and next week she has her sights set on the TSSAA Large School State Tournament in Manchester. The practice round is Monday, October 14 and the tournament is Tuesday and Wednesday, October 15 & 16 at Willowbrook.

Cleveland High School won the team tournament and also advances to state. They were led by Hannah Nall with a 71. Also advancing as individuals were Macy Moses of Sequoyah with a 77 and Zoey Budzilek of Livingston Academy with a 78.

Chew played in the state tournament last year in a rain shortened event and tied for 18th with an 82

Anna is the daughter of Lori Chew and George Chew and granddaughter of Larry and Gail Redmon.
