Ronald Dale (Ronnie) Doak

December 14, 2018

Ronald Dale Doak (Ronnie), age 64, of Lebanon, TN departed his earthly home and went to rest in the arms of Jesus on December 12, 2018.  Ronnie was born on September 4, 1954 in Livingston, TN to Charles and Ann Evins Doak.

Ronnie grew up in Alexandria, TN and was raised by his Grandmother, Estelle Merriman. From an early age, she taught him to love the Lord which he carried with him to Nashville, TN where he attended David Lipscomb University.  In January of 1976, Ronnie would have an accident that would change the course of his life, BUT what the devil intended for evil, the Lord used for good.  Doctors told Ronnie that he would never marry or have children, but he proved them wrong and God proved Himself faithful.

Ronnie met his loving wife, Gwendolyn in 1984, and after only a few months, proposed to her.  They were married for 33 wonderful years and had two children who adore them along with four wonderful grandchildren.

Ronnie worked for Cracker Barrel and Apple Mobility.  Most of his career was spent at Friendship Christian, where he served as the Director of Development with a listening ear, a shoulder to cry on, and a voice of reason to so many students and staff members who valued his godly advice.

If there were ever a life that reflected the grace, kindness, and generosity of the Father, it would be Ronnie’s.  He was the kind of husband, father, friend, and brother that left us all wanting to be and do better.  His attitude in the face of hardship was not only inspiring, but it left all who knew him in awe of the work of the Father in his life.

Ronnie is survived by his wife of 33 years, Gwendolyn; His children John (Maegan) Doak, Rachel (Brian) Pritchett; 4 grandchildren Molly Kate, Isaac, and Emma Doak, and Ford Pritchett; Mother, Ann Evins Doak; Brothers Charlie Doak, Bill (Martha) Doak, and Andy (Melissa) Doak and Sister, Leighann Lasater (Charles Boyd); and many nieces and nephews.

In lieu of flowers, we are asking that donations be made in Ronnie’s name to AGAPE or Maple Hill Church of Christ.

Funeral services will be held at 11 AM Saturday December 15 at Maple Hill Church of Christ in Lebanon, TN with Joe Widick presiding.

Visitation will be held Friday evening from 4-8 PM at Maple Hill Church of Christ and again on Saturday beginning at 10 AM.

There will be a private burial at a different time.
