Rebecca “Becky” Louise Reis Davis

Rebecca “Becky” Louise Reis Davis of Smithville, TN was born in Shelby, Ohio to William Arthur Reis and Mary Morris Reis. She was a member of the St. Matthew’s Episcopal Church in McMinnville, TN. She transitioned to eternal life on August 18, 2022 at home surrounded by family.

Visitation at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home in Smithville, TN will be on Thursday August 25th from 4:00 PM – 7:00 PM. The funeral will be at Saint Philip’s Episcopal Church in Nashville, TN Saturday August 27th, visitation at 1:00 PM with funeral at 2:00 PM.

Becky was a “True Blue” graduate of MTSU and a public school teacher for more than 30 years. She was a dedicated community servant. She was an officer in the DeKalb County TN Retired Teachers’ Association; a member of The Order of the Daughters of the King, and a tutor for local elementary school students.

Becky was a huge TN Titans Fan, she enjoyed reading, traveling, painting, participating in the DeKalb County Senior Center, and spending time at Center Hill Lake with her family and host of guests.

Becky never met a stranger and was “Granny” to her family and all of their friends who will miss her dearly. Having lost her mother at a young age, Becky was also a mother to her siblings, helping raise them and continuing to care for them into their adult years.

Becky was married to her husband Frank for nearly 50 years, during which they built a legacy of love and family bonds that will last for generations.

Becky was preceded in death by her husband, Frank Truman Davis, parents William Arthur Reis, Mary Morris Reis, her step-mother, Dorothy Reis, her brother William “Bill” (Enid) Reis and her nephew Isaac (Ashton) Parks.

Becky leaves to cherish her memory two daughters, Mary (Chris) Brady, Sally (La’Mar) Franklin. Grandchildren, Ryan (Rebecca) Milke, Erin (Christian) Moritz, Shannon (Byron) Conerty, Dillon Brady, Leya Franklin, and Isaiah Franklin. Great-grandchildren, Lindsay Owen, Jax Milke and Oliver Moritz. Siblings, Barbara “Babs” Thompson, Barbara Parks, Sterling “Buddy” Batt. Sister-in-Law, Kathleen Davis. Nieces and nephews, Jennifer Thompson, Matthew (Susan) Thompson, and Alicia McAniff.

Becky also leaves to cherish her memory, her loyal companion, Jimmy “Steve” Gunter, with whom she enjoyed riding their side by side four wheeler; visiting with friends at the Senior Center; camping, and drinking their coffee on the front porch.

The family would like to thank everyone for their prayers and support during Ms. Becky’s illness.
