J. C. Carter, age 87, of Lawrenceburg, TN passed away Tuesday, June 27, 2023, at Maury Regional Medical Center in Columbia, TN. He was a native of Dekalb County, TN, retired supervisor from Tom’s Distributing Company, and a member of Immanuel Baptist Church.
He was preceded in death by his parents, C. J. and Gladys Cantrell Carter.
He is survived by his wife, Rebecca Paulette Carter of Lawrenceburg, TN; one daughter, Angie Farr (Johnny) of Lawrenceburg, TN; three sons, Steve Gwalen Carter (Krystal) of Lawrenceburg, TN, Chris Carter (Linda) of Ethridge, TN, and Bruce Carter (Susan) of Lexington, TN; one sister, Shirley Mathis (Dwight) of Liberty, TN; ten grandchildren; and twenty-five great-grandchildren.
Arrangements are being handled by Neal Funeral Home, 231 N. Military Avenue, Lawrenceburg, Tennessee. The family will receive friends from 5:00 PM to 8:00 PM Friday, June 30, 2023, at Neal Funeral Home. Funeral services will be conducted at Neal Funeral Home at 11:00 AM Saturday, July 01, 2023, with Kenneth Tramel officiating. Interment will follow at Mimosa Cemetery in Lawrenceburg, TN.
