Ann Simpkins Carpenter Wing was born to Odie and Lena (Carney) Simpkins on April 4, 1926 in Cheatham County, TN. She passed away on February 12, 2019 at NHC in Pulaski, TN, due to complications from pneumonia.
After receiving her education at North High School in Nashville, TN, she married Lyle Carpenter on April 20, 1947. She was a loving wife and doting mother to three children, while working tirelessly as a homemaker. She shared her strong passion for music with her family, as well as numerous piano students that she taught throughout her years.
She is preceded in death by her parents, husband Lyle; sisters: Lillian Simpkins, Louise Terry, Allie May Vandygriff; brothers: Odell Simpkins, Homer Simpkins, Ray Simpkins.
She is survived by her sons: Ray Lyle Carpenter, John Michael Carpenter; daughter: Joyce Ann Herring; grandsons: Jason Carpenter, Joseph Carpenter, Jeremy Carpenter, Michael Waggoner, Brian Carpenter; granddaughters: Brooke Martin, Stacey Jefferson, Rachel Carlin, Rebekah Schmidt; great grandchildren: Kathyrn, Steven, Kylee, Jocelyn, Jodi, Joshua, Wesley, Collin, Anna Ryan, Ella, Evelyn, Alissa, Gabriela, Ari, Michael, Lena, Ben-Luca, Constantin, and Johanna.
Visitation will take place at Anderson & Garrett Funeral Home in Joelton on Thursday, February 14th from 5 P.M. until 8 P.M. and again on Friday, February 15th from 11 A.M. until the hour of Service at 1 P.M. with Dr. John M. Carpenter officiating.
Interment follows Service at Carney-Demonbreun Cemetery in Ashland City.
