Mrs. Jill Evylin Watson, age 76 of Smithville, passed away Wednesday, March 29 at the Webb House in Smithville. She was a member of the Smithville Church of Christ, Middle TN Iris Association and the DeKalb Co. Community Choir.
She was born on March 30, 1946 to her parents, Ralph and Ruby Eley Snell who preceded her in death. She is also preceded in death by a sister, Jewel Kendrick and 2 brothers-in-law, Ronald Kendrick and Jerry Brown.
Visitation with the Watson family will be on Saturday from 4 until 8 pm at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home and on Sunday from 12 till the service time at 2:00 pm at the Smithville Church of Christ. Bro. Dan Gulley will officiate and burial will follow in DeKalb Cemetery.
Survivors include her husband of 50 years, Russell Watson of Smithville, 1 daughter, Kelly (Andrew) Evans of Crockett Mills, 3 sons, Kurt (Emily) Watson of Lascassas, Kyle (Jennifer) Watson of Columbia and Craig (Abigail) Watson of McMinnville. 8 grandchildren, Robyn, Kate, Joy and Claire Evans, Lillian & Everett Watson and Britton and Ruby Watson. 4 sisters, Joy Brown of AL, Joan (Bob) Dixon of IN, Jan (Jim) Brantly of IN, Jerrilyn (Richard) Kelley of AL, 4 brothers, Tom (Jincy) Snell of TX, Ken (Susan) Snell of GA, David (Jane) Snell of Ripley and Jonathan (Lea) Snell of AL. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to flowers the family has requested that donations please be made to the Smithville Church of Christ Work Camp.

Lonnie “Peewee” Pack

Lonnie “Peewee” Pack, age 75 of Smithville, passed away Saturday March 25, 2023, at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. He was born September 19, 1947, to his parents the late Donald Gene and Margie Lee Harris Pack. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by great-granddaughter, Christina Ralph; siblings, William Reece, Helen Golden, Essie Allen, Harold Reece; sisters-in-law, Clara (Phillip) Wilkey, Penny Hale, and Sharon Pack. Mr. Pack was a Baptist and was a carpenter and nursery worker. He is survived by his wife of 41 years, Betty J. Pack of Smithville; sons, Donald H. Pack and Christopher T. Pack both of Smithville; grandchildren, Brian Waggoner, Ashley Pack, Donald Pack, Doranda Pack and Aubree Bruno; great-grandchildren, Terrance Bain, Rhyliann Jernigan, and Hadley Ralph; sister, Mary Pack Green of Belk; brothers, Lee R. (Pam) Pack of McMinnville, Ronnie and (Beverly) Pack of Rock Island; brothers-in-law, Steve (Linda) Hale, Thomas (Red) Hale, Leroy Hale, Charlie (Ellen) Hale, and John Hale all of Smithville; sister-in-law, Pauline Crook of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 3 PM Wednesday, March 29, 2023 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel and burial to follow in Webb Cemetery at Bluff Springs. Visitation will be Tuesday, 3 PM till 8 PM and on Wednesday, 10:AM until the time of the service at 3 PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Ricky Lane Evans

Ricky Lane Evans, age 52 , of Smithville passed away Friday morning at Vanderbilt University Medical Center after complications from a stroke he suffered 9 days prior. He was born July 2, 1970 to his mother, Thelma Young Evans and his late father, Cordell Evans. Mr. Evans worked in Maintenance at Federal Mogul for over 20 years. He is survived by children, Amber (Jordan) Bain of Rock Island, Ryan Evans of Smithville, Ethan Evans of Lafayette, and Tristen Evans of Lafayette; grandchildren, Karsyn and Jasper Bain, and Tate Evans; mother Thelma Evans of Smithville; sister, Debbie (Brian) Lehan of Smithville; brother, Dell Evans of Smithville; nieces and nephews, Renee (Jason) Walker, Sarah (Kenny) Harris, Stephanie Barber, David Evans, and Ashley Evans. The family has honored Mr. Evans request to be cremated, and no services are planned. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
Frances Carmene Waggoner

Frances Carmene Waggoner, age 75 of Smithville, passed away early Thursday morning at her residence. She was a retired factory worker at Kingston Timers and attended New West Point Baptist Church.
She was born on August 29, 1947 to her parents, Euyl and Lela Lawson Bratcher who preceded her in death. She was also preceded in death by one sister, Edith Roberts and 2 brothers, Comer and Danny Bratcher.
She is survived by her husband of 57 years, Kenneth Waggoner of Smithville, 1 son, Phillip (Natasha) Waggoner, 3 grandsons, Hagen, Hasten & Haven Waggoner all of Liberty, sister, Earlene Redmon, brother, Harold (Dorothy) Bratcher and sister-in-law, Janice Bratcher all of Smithville.
Visitation with the Waggoner family will be on Friday from 12:00 to 8:00 and on Saturday from 10:00 until the service time at 1:00 in the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Bro. Royce Moore will officiate and burial will follow in Banks Cemetery.

Brayden Seth Creek Age 18 passed from this life on Thursday March 16, 2023. He is survived by his parents Barnie and LuAnne Creek, sister Nadia Creek, 2 brothers sent from God: Carmon Johnson and Josh (Smiley) Taylor, Grandparents Gary and Pat Mucha, and several friends and extended family members. A private memorial will be held at a later date
Franklin Pierce Bennett, Jr.

Franklin Pierce Bennett, Jr. age 87, of Smithville formerly of Michigan, passed away at his residence Monday March 20, 2023. He was born September 5, 1935 to his parents the late Franklin and Florence Young Bennett, Sr. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by brothers, Timothy P. Bennett and Peter A. Bennett. Mr. Bennett was a Retired Minister at Episcopalian Church in Michigan and currently a member of St. Paul’s Church in Murfreesboro. He is survived by his wife, Marsha Bennett of Smithville; daughter, Rebecca (Kevin) Frederick of Smithville; grandchildren, James A. Frederick and Patrick Frederick of Smithville; nephews, Timothy Bennett, Jr., and Matthew Bennett; and his dog, Skyla Blue. The family has honored Mr. Bennett’s request to be cremated and a Celebration of Life will be held in Michigan at a later date. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
