Mr. Roger Alan Danner, age 67 of Silver Point, TN passed away Monday, September 26, 2022 at his residence.

Mr. Danner was born on October 14, 1954 in Louisville, KY to his parents, the late Raymond & Frances Juanita Lodge Danner. He was a Pilot.

The family of Mr. Danner has chosen direct cremation. No services are planned at this time. Love-Cantrell Funeral Home is in charge of the arrangements.




Ronnie Hoover

Mr. Ronnie Ray Hoover, age 62 of Smithville, TN passed away peacefully Tuesday, September 27, 2022 at his home.

Mr. Hoover was born on November 14, 1959 in Crossville, TN to his parents, the late Walter & Sarah Jane Elizabeth Hicks Hoover. Also preceding him in death are his paternal grandparents, Opal & John Hoover & maternal grandparents, Dee & Delta Hicks; and Ronnie’s fiancé, Ami Tucker. Mr. Hoover had previously worked in the Construction Industry & attended the Memorial Baptist Church on Dale Ridge.

The family has chosen direct cremation. Private Memorial Services will be held at a later time.

Survivors include his Sister, Joyce (Jerry) Brewer. Brother, Charles Hoover & Steven Joe Hicks. Brother in the Lord, Randy (Tasha) Vaughn. Niece, Leeann (Matt) Clark. Great Niece, Skylan (Kobe) Cox. Aunt, Mazelle (Huey) Crouch. Also survived by a family of loving cousins. Extended Family, Ex Wife, Kathryn Hoover; Larry, Wanda & Lincoln Tramel & the Memorial Baptist Church family on Dale Ridge. David Hugh Redmon

David Hugh Redmon age 78, of Smithville passed away Tuesday September 27, 2022 at St. Thomas Rutherford Hospital. He was born May 6, 1944 to his parents, the late John Peter “Doc” and Lou Verna West Redmon. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by step-son, Kyle Robinson; uncle, Don Redmon. Mr. Redmon was a member of Spring Street The Baptist Church and worked as Utility Contractor. He is survived by wife, Patricia Redmon of Smithville; daughter, Kim Taylor of Lebanon; step-sons, Mark (Shawnn) Robinson, and Kevin Robinson of Smithville; grandchildren, Kristie Taylor and fiancé Kris Harris, Tre Taylor and fiancé Taylor Greer and Maggie Robinson; great-grandchild, Pasleigh Taylor Harris; sister, Linda (Jimmy) Crawford of Smithville; brother, Donnie (Cindy) Redmon of McMinnville; several Nieces and Nephews, and Great-Nieces also survive. Funeral services will be held Friday September 30, 2022 at 11:00AM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dwight Knowles and Bro. David Frazier officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Thursday 12:noon till 8:00PM and Friday 9:00AM until the time of the service at 11:00AM. John Edward Michael

John Edward Michael age 82, of Smithville, passed away Tuesday September 27, 2022 at Cookeville Regional Medical Center in Cookeville. He was born October 25, 1939 to his parents, the late James and Pearl Michael. In addition to his parents he was preceded in death by 3 brothers: Billy, Lee, and Eugene; 1 sister: Elizabeth. Mr. John was a member of Northside Baptist Church in McMinnville where he served as a Deacon, served in the United States Air Force and worked as an Engineer with Carrier Cooperation. He is survived by his wife of 60 years, Bettie Michael of Smithville; 2 daughters: Johnna West of Smithville, and Lori Michael of Smithville; 3 grandchildren: Sarah (Billy) Fuson, Ashley (Quentin) Cook, Waylon West and fiance Samantha Ballard; 4 great-grandchildren: Brooklyn Fuson, Aubree Fuson, Aiden Cook and Brilee Fuson; 2 sisters: Mary Michael, and Betty Riggins. Funeral services will be 4 PM Friday, September 30, 2022 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in the New Union Cemetery. Patsy L. Hayes

September 29, 2022

Patsy L. Hayes, age 75 of Smithville, passed away peacefully on June 9, 2022 from advanced cancer diagnosed on June 2, 2022 while hospitalized in St. Thomas Rutherford. At the time of her death in NHC Heathcare (Smithville), she was receiving comfort care with hospice.

She was born May 26, 1947 to her parents, the late Bertie Fuston and Rex Hayes Jr. (Smithville). In addition, to her parents, she was proceeded in death by her grandparents, Rex Sr. and Lou Durham Hayes, Valter Ray and Verna Ballinger Fuston (Dry Creek), and a loving aunt and loyal friend, Frances Fuston Frazier (Smithville). She is survived by her sister, Peggy E. Hayes (San Diego), cousin and neighbor, Susan Frazier Hinton (Smithville), and several other cousins.

Patsy was a graduate of DeKalb County High School, attended Freed-Hardeman University, and competed training in cytology at the University of Tennessee (UT) in Memphis. As a cytotechnologist, she worked in the medical laboratories at UT Medical Center (Knoxville) and Erlanger Hospital (Chattanooga). Upon retirement (1997) due to a poor health prognosis, she returned to Smithville and resided with and cared for her mother on the century-old Hayes Family Farm.

Patsy will be remembered as a wonderful daughter, loyal sister, and a dedicated friend. She was a member of the Smithville Church of Christ and an avid UT Lady Volunteers basketball fan. Over the years, she graciously accepted and cared for those many cats who arrived at her door (and stayed).

Patsy elected cremation, a Memorial Service will be held 2 PM Friday, September 30, 2022, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dan Gulley, Family and Friends officiating. Visitation will be 12 Noon until the time of the service at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, contributions in her name may be made to the Smithville Church of Christ Day Care, Humane Society, and St. Jude Children’s Research Hospital. Those within her community returned Patsy’s generous nature and loving spirit. Special thanks are extended to Kathryn Haley Kinsey, childhood neighbor and life-long friend, and her husband, Dick, for their unselfish devotion and loyalty.

Ruth Cantrell Prinzivalle

Ruth Cantrell Prinzivalle age 90, of Smithville, passed away Tuesday September 27, 2022, at her residence. Ruth was born December 29, 1931, to her parents, the late Fred Parker and Beulah Frances Ponder Cantrell. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by husband, Vincent Prinzivalle; siblings, Bill, Lawrence, and Frank Cantrell, Ruby Ballard, and Nell Connolly. She was a former member of the Order of the Easter Star and worked at Champion Sparkplugs in Detroit. Ruth is survived by daughter, Kim (Steve) Nash of Smithville; stepson, Nick Prinzivalli of Michigan; sisters-in-law, Mary Cantrell Lawson and Jane Cantrell both of Smithville; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 2 PM Thursday, September 29, 2022, at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in Burton-Ponder Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday September 29, 2022, 10:AM until the time of the service at 2 PM. In addition to flowers donations may be made to the DeKalb Animal Shelter or St. Jude Children’s Hospital in memory of Mrs. Ruth. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
