Mary Margaret Young age 77, of Smithville passed away December 2, 2021 at the Webb House in Smithville. She was born August 28, 1944 to her parents, the late Ray Ambers and Mary Winnie Raymond Neal. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by her husband of 57 years, John R. Young; daughter, Janice Carol Jenkins; 4 brothers, Ray Neal, Jr., John Robert Neal, Clayton Melvin Neal, and Billy Charles Neal. Ms. Young was a member of Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church and she was retired from Kingston Timers having worked for more than 30 years. She is survived by her daughter, Teresa (Mark) Sullivan of Smithville; brother, Morris (Shirley) Neal of McMinnville; grandchildren, Joshua (Tera) Redmon of KY, Brandon Sullivan of Smithville, Meagan (Seth) Sheffield of IN; great-grandchildren, Josie Mae Redmon, Piper Rose Redmon, and Aria Joye Sheffield; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be held 11:00AM Monday, December 6, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Bill Robertson officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday December 5, 2021 at 1:00PM until 5:00PM and on Monday 9:00AM until the time of the service at 11:00AM. In addition to flowers donations may be made to Elizabeth Chapel Baptist Church or Lighthouse Christian Camp. Ms. Eleanor Frances Kingsbury age 93 of Smithville, TN passed away Thursday evening, December 2, 2021 at her home.

Ms. Kingsbury was born on December 16, 1927 in Jackson, Michigan to her parents, the late Jesse Dodes & Estelle Robinson Sweet. Also preceding her in death is her Husband, Everett Kingsbury, 2 Sons, Thomas Kingsbury & David Kingsbury & several Brothers & Sisters. She was a Homemaker.

Ms. Kingsbury’s wishes were that she be cremated. No services are planned at this time.

Survivors include her Son, Michael Kingsbury & Fiance’ (Brenda Taylor) of Smithville, TN. Grandchildren, Becky (Troy) Hoople of Michigan, David (Christine) Kingsbury of Michigan, Jesse Kingsbury (Kayla Knopp) of Smithville, TN & Brenna Kingsbury of California. Lynda Fay Poss age 77, of Smithville, passed away Friday December 3, 2021 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital ER. She was born April 30, 1944 to her parents, the late Jvan and Eveleen Wilhoite Walls. She was a member of the Copelands Chapel Freewill Baptist Church and worked at Century Electric and was a Homemaker. Mrs. Poss is survived by her husband of 58 years, Don Poss of Smithville; 2 sons, Greg (Lisa) Poss of Old Hickory, and Jeff (Christine) Poss of Nashville; grandchildren, Oliver Michael Poss, Abigail and Olivia Julian; 2 aunts, Earlene Olson and Marie Walls both of Smithville; several cousins also survive. Funeral services will be held Monday, December 6, 2021 at 3:00PM at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Sunday, December 5, 2021 at 1:00 PM until 5:00PM and on Monday 10:00AM until the time of the service at 3:00PM. In addition to flowers donations may be made to St. Jude Children’s Hospital. The funeral home lounge is closed at this time and no food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home. Barbara Lynne Powell age 75, passed away Tuesday night, November 30,2021 at her residence in Dowelltown. She was born September 12, 1946 to her parents the late, Marion and Jacqueline Roll. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 4 brothers, Earl Smith, Ernest, Saxton, and Galen Roll. Ms. Powell worked in home health. She is survived by her children, Holly Frazier of Smithville, and Erin (Shelly) Gibson of Dowelltown; step-daughter, Jennifer (DJ) Brignac of GA; grandchildren, Tiffany (Kurt) Dykes of Smithville, Dustin (Gabby) Frazier of McMinnville, Makenzi (Kyle) Phillips of Dowelltown, Breanna Gibson and fiancé, Austin Johnson of Dowelltown, Jaxson and Ryder Brignac of GA; great-grandchildren, Jordyn, Wyatt, Nora, Macy, Zoey, Zayne, Zaxton, and Beckam; special friend, Tommy Mitchell; several nieces and nephews also survive. A Celebration of Life will be held 2 PM Monday, December 6, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Michael Hale, Family and Friends to officiate. Enoch Lee “Hoss Man” Brown age 50 of Smithville passed away Tuesday night November 30,2021 at Vanderbilt University Medical Center. He was born April 2,1971 to his parents the late, J. B. and Margie Hammock Brown. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by brothers, John Rickey Brown, Roscoe J. Brown, Lonnie Lee Brown and Carl Freeman Brown; sisters, Jean Brown McCormick and Judy Brown. Mr. Brown was a nursery worker and worked in meat department. He is survived by his wife, Holly Brown of Smithville; son, Austin Brown of Smithville; brothers, Bruce Brown, Glenn (Vonda) Brown, and Curtis Brown all of Smithville; sister, Dorothy Sanders of Smithville; many nieces and nephews also survive; special cousin, Lisa Campbell. Funeral service will be 2:30 PM Thursday, December 2, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Family and Friends officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Cemetery. Visitation will be Thursday 12:Noon until 2:30PM. In lieu of flowers, the family ask donations may be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel to help with funeral expenses. Darlene Danielle Baker age 69 of McMinnville, passed away Saturday night November 27, 2021 at NHC Healthcare of McMinnville. She was born July 30, 1952 to her parents, the late Charles Edward and Delores Elkin Lincoln, III. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by an infant brother, Clifford Lincoln. She was of the Baptist Faith and worked in housekeeping. She is survived by 2 children, Kevin Glen Baker and Melissa Amy (Bo) Yarbrough both of Smithville; grandchildren, Brittany Campbell and Nevaeh Baker; great-grandchildren, Ayvah Poss and Jolynne Poss; brother, Charlie (Johnesse) Lincoln of Arizona. The family has honored Ms. Baker’s request to be cremated. A Memorial Service will be held 12:30 PM December 11, 2021 at New Home Baptist Church with Bro. Bobby Lee Hale officiating. Visitation will be Saturday December 11, 2021 10:AM until the time of the service at 12:30 p.m. at New Home Baptist Church. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
