Tigerettes Advance to Region Softball Tournament at Sequatchie County

The DCHS Tigerettes suffered a heartbreaker losing to Livingston Academy 7 to 5 in the District Tournament Championship Game Friday at Watertown.

The Tigerettes will travel to Dunlap Monday for the 1st round of the Region Softball Tournament at Sequatchie County at 5 p.m.

In the game Friday DeKalb County scored 5 runs on 4 hits and made 5 errors. Livingston Academy scored 7 runs on 6 hits and made 5 errors.

DC took a 1 to 0 lead after the 4th inning and went up 2 to 0 in the top of the 5th but Livingston Academy tied the game scoring 2 runs in the bottom of the 5th inning. DeKalb County scored another run in the 6th to take a 3 to 2 lead but the Lady Wildcats exploded for 5 runs in the bottom of the 6th inning to move ahead 7 to 3. The Tigerettes tried to mount a rally in the 7th inning scoring 2 runs but fell short losing 7 to 5.

Kenzie France took the loss for the Tigerettes. She lasted 6 innings, allowing 6 hits and 7 runs while striking out 3 and walking 1.

France led the Tigerettes with 2 hits and 2 RBI in 4 at bats. Jacey Hatfield and Joni Robinson each had a hit and Braya Murphy had an RBI.

Named to the All-District Team from DeKalb County are Kenzie France, Emme Colwell, Jacey Hatfield and Megan Walker while Joni Robinson, Kennedy Polk, Kenzie France, Emme Colwell, Megan Walker and Jacey Hatfield made the All-District Tournament Team.
