A man is in trouble with the law for threatening a Pizza Hut employee with a knife.

52 year old Marty Tallent of 465 West Broad Street was arrested by Smithville Police on August 16 for Aggravated Assault and Theft.

According to Police, an employee of Pizza Hut went to 465 West Broad Street to deliver a pizza. As the employee got to the front door of the residence, Tallent came to the door displaying a knife and ordered the employee to drop off the pizza and leave the residence.  The employee put down the pizza for fear that Tallent would cut him and returned to his car and called the police.   An officer arrived on scene and took Tallent into custody.  Bond for Tallent is $10,000.
