Members of the DeKalb County Election Commission have been appointed by the Tennessee Election Commission.

The state election commission made these appointments on Monday April 5.

The term of each member is for two years.

Members of the DeKalb County Election Commission are Walteen Parker, Barbara Vanatta, Jim Dean, Kim Luton and the newest member Yvette Tubbs Carver.

Vanatta and Dean are beginning their seventh terms. Parker has served since 1992. All three are Republicans. Luton, a Democrat, is starting her first full term. She was appointed to fill a vacancy in January with the death of Lisa Peterson. Carver, also Democrat, is beginning her first term succeeding two term member Jackie Smith who has retired.

The board will soon reorganize selecting officers to serve for the next two years.
