The DeKalb County Mayor’s office, along with Smithville-DeKalb County Chamber of Commerce, invite you to explore a free, online job resource tool, DeKalb County Works, where employers can recruit local employees and job seekers can have direct access to local jobs in one online location. Persons searching for employment can engage with businesses in a virtual job fair setting without leaving home.

This new addition to the county’s website www.dekalbtennessee.com, DeKalb County Works, provides a way for local businesses and industries to promote job opportunities that are available. The mission is to contribute to DeKalb County’s economic growth by supporting the needs of employers and those seeking employment through resources offered in a true one-stop environment. There is a Quick Link on the website’s home page and also a drop-down box under the Residents section for “Job Openings in DeKalb County.”

County Mayor Tim Stribling says, “There are local businesses looking for great people to join one of the best community’s workforce. We provide employers with a single point of contact to connect with hundreds of potential employees with available positions locally in our area.”

Chamber Director Suzanne Williams believes this new resource can be a useful tool to any size business from small, locally owned to our larger industries. “We look forward to growing the DeKalb Works page. We hope that any time an employer needs employees, they immediately post the job openings and the qualifications needed thus making it a much simpler process for job searchers,” says Williams.
