Robert Harold Murphy, age 77 of Smithville, passed away Tuesday night at NHC Healthcare in Smithville. He was a farmer and of the Baptist faith.
Mr. Murphy was born on September 6, 1947 in Smithville, TN. He was preceded in death by his parents; Arthur Lee “Doc” & Cathleen Crook Murphy and 5 brothers; Ralph, James, David, Jeffery and Ricky Murphy.
Visitation with the Murphy family will be on Saturday from 10:30 am until the funeral service at 2:00 pm in the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in the Cannady Cemetery.
Survivors include; 2 sons; Michael (Crystal) Murphy of Crossville, Darrell Murphy (Amy Scott), 1 daughter; Melinda Murphy all of Smithville, 4 grandchildren, 2 great-grandchildren, brother; Kenneth (Gayle) Murphy of FL, 2 sisters; Kathy Murphy of Shelbyville and Fay (Sam) Baker of Sparta, mother of his children; Clara Murphy of Smithville.
In addition to flowers the family has asked that donations please be made to the funeral home to help with expenses.

Faye Hill Hendrix

Mrs. Faye Hill Hendrix age 81 of Gallatin, formerly of Smithville, passed away on Thursday night at Alive Hospice in Nashville. She was a member of Indian Creek Baptist Church and retired from the DeKalb Co. Board of Education as a vocational secretary.
She was born on July 5, 1943 in Smithville, TN. She is preceded in death by her parents; Jack and Eva Hill, brother; Donald Hill and nephew; Kyle Hill.
Visitation with the Hendrix family will be on Sunday, from 1:00 to 7:00 pm and Monday from 11:00 am until the service at 1:00 pm in the chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Burial will follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens.
Survivors include 1 daughter; Debbie (Stan) Hardaway of Gallatin, son; Dustin (Tanetta) Hendrix of Walling, grandchild; Caitlin (Cris) Bird, great-grandchild; Jude “Ju Ju” Bird all of Gallatin, 2 step-grandchildren; Blake Hardaway and Brett (Lexie) Hardaway all of Hendersonville, 3 step great-grandchildren, 1 sister- Polly Hill, 1 brother; Wayne (Vivian) Hill, sister-in-law; Brenda Hill Stewart all of Smithville. Several nieces and nephews also survive.
In addition to flowers the family ask that donations be made to Light House Christian Camp or St. Jude Children’s Hospital.

Bobby Wayne “BJ” Pinegar Jr

Bobby Wayne “BJ” Pinegar Jr, age 48 of Smithville, passed away on Monday, August 26, 2024 at St. Thomas DeKalb Hospital. He was a Baptist, a construction worker, a certified HVAC technician and loved playing the guitar.
He was born on June 30, 1976 in Smithville, TN to his parents, Bobby and Paula Pinegar.
The family has chosen cremation; however, a visitation will be held on Sunday, September 8 from 12:00 to 5:00 pm at Love-Cantrell Funeral Home.
In addition to his parents, Bobby “Bear” and Paula Pinegar Sr., he is survived by his sister, Sandy (Mike ) Gillentine; 2 nieces, Breanna Knowles (Curtis Thomas) of Clarksville and Britney Knowles of NC; nephew, Zach (Kiersten) Gillentine,; great nephew, Denver Gillentine both of Tullahoma; and special friend, Shellie Bain of Smithville.
Curtis Lee Rust

Curtis Lee Rust age 69 of Smithville, passed away Saturday morning, August 31, 2024 at NHC HealthCare in Smithville. He was born June 28, 1955 to his parents, the late Curtis and Minnie Dorthy Ray Rust. He was retired from DeKalb Farmer’s CO-OP and a U.S. Army Veteran having served in Vietnam. Mr. Curt was a lifetime member of the AM Vets. He is survived by his wife, Sharon Rust of Smithville; daughters, Terese Pena of Russell Springs, KY and Sherri (Bobby) Prater of Cookeville; son, Ryan (Sasha) Rust of Arizona; grandchildren, Korrin Therrien, Sienna Prater and Elena Prater; brother, John (Kathy) Rust of Cookeville; sister, Paulette Jump of Michigan and several nieces, nephews loved ones and friends. Graveside services and interment will be 3 PM Monday, September 9, 2024 at DeKalb Cemetery with Military Honors conducted by the Veterans Honor Guard. Visitation will be on Monday 1 PM until 2:45, at which time Mr. Rust will be taken to the cemetery for the service. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to DeKalb Funeral Chapel, in memory of Mr. Curtis. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to care for the Rust family.

Kathy Darline McDaniel age 54 of McMinnville passed away Saturday August 31, 2024, at her residence. She was born July 4, 1970, to her parents, the late William & Edwina Ferrell Morris. She was a member of McMinnville First Baptist Church. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by 2 husbands; Sister: Tammy West; Grandparents: Jess & Lily Ferrell. Survivors include: 3 children: Lynn, John & Brandy; 2 Grandchildren: Kelsie & Casey; Brother: William “Bud” Morris; Several nieces & nephews also survive. The family has chosen a direct cremation, no services planned at this time. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is honored to serve the McDaniel family.
Jean A. Cook

Mrs. Jean A. Cook, affectionately known as “Nanny” age 91 of Alexandria, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 30, 2024 at her residence. She was born July 12, 1933 to her parents, the late B. and Mai Foutch Akin. In addition to her parents, she was preceded in death by her husband, Buddy Cook; son, Barry Cook and sister, Frances Haley. Jean was a member of the Upper Helton Baptist Church and she and her late husband Buddy, ran a diary farm for years and she also worked at the DeKalb West School Cafeteria. She is survived by her daughter, Cynthia (Butch) Agee of Liberty; daughter-in-law, Teresa Cook Roberts of Walling; 7 grandchildren, Josh (January) Agee, Joey (Casey) Agee, Amanda Loring, Troy Cook, Morgan Thaxton (Taylor) Bain, Eddie (Kiersten) Parrish and Jake Parrish; 12 great-grandchildren, Kennedy, Vaden, Lucas, Teagan, Avery, Jordyn, Dallas, Alley Beth, Drew, Navie, Indie and Kennedy; special friend, Stephanie Tiner. Funeral services will be 2 PM Monday, September 2, 2024 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Josh and Joey Agee officiating and burial will follow in Salem Cemetery with Bro. Jimmy Arms officiating. Visitation with the family will be on Sunday 12:30PM until 8 PM and Monday 11:AM until the time of the service at 2 PM. In lieu of flowers, the family asks that donations be made to either the Upper Helton Baptist Church, Building Fund, Salem Cemetery or New Hope Cemetery, in memory of Mrs. Jean.
