A reunion of the Cross Roads School will be held Saturday, November 1st,from 11AM until 2PM at Mt. Herman Baptist Church. Anyone who was a student or a teacher or a child of a teacher is invited. A fingerfood dish and any pictures available is requested.
DCHS Seniors: Any senior who is planning on attending community or technical college or who is undecided on college/technical school choice needs to sign up for the TN Promise Scholarship by November 1. If you miss this deadline, you are not eligible for the TN Promise Scholarship. Please go to www.TNPromise.gov and apply. Detailed directions are available on the DCHS website at www.dchstigers.com. If students need counselor assistance, please check with Mrs. Myrick. If students need access to the internet in order to apply for TN Promise, they may check with Mrs. Myrick. Justin Potter Library will provide computers and quiet space each Thursday from 3:00 - 5:00 p.m. for our high school seniors to apply for the Tennessee Promise scholarship, to complete the Free Application for Federal Student Aid (FAFSA) and the students' college applications. The Alexandria Fire Department will have an All You Can Eat Chili Supper and Coat Drive on Saturday, November 22 from noon until 7:00 p.m. at the DeKalb County Fairgrounds in the Kenneth Sandlin Center. Chili tickets are $8.00 for those age 13 and older and $4.00 for ages 7-12. Free for children under age 6. Enjoy All You Can Eat chili, crackers/cornbread, and a drink included. Please bring a coat to donate for a child in need.
