A 5K & 1 Mile Fun Run for Down Syndrome Awareness will be October 1 at 8:00 a.m. at 101 Bulldog Lane, Liberty. The event "3.21RUN4DS" is formerly known as RunDown 5K. Early Bird Registration by August 19 is $20 or $25 for Pre-registration received by September 28. The cost is $30 on the day of the race. The Fun Run fee is $15 to enter. Registration by September 15 guarantees a t-shirt. Race Day Registration begins at 6:30 a.m. Early Packet Pickup is September 29 from 6-7 p.m. at DeKalb West School. If you like to play Rook and are age 60 or over and enjoy spending time with great people, grab a partner and join them at the DeKalb/Smithville Senior Center located at 718 South Congress Boulevard, Smithville between the County Complex and the UT Extension Agency. They play on Wednesday afternoons from 1-4 p.m.
