Tigerettes Rally Falls Short in 4-3 Loss to Cookeville

The DCHS Tigerettes fought back from a 4 run deficit in the 1st inning but a comeback fell just short in a 4-3 defeat to Cookeville on Wednesday.

Cookeville scored 4 runs on 8 hits and made 1 error. DC scored 3 runs on 5 hits and made no errors. The Lady Cavaliers scored all 4 runs in the 1st inning. The Tigerettes scored 1 in the 3rd and 2 runs in the 5th inning.

Jacey Hatfield and Megan Walker came through with RBIs to lead the rally in the 5th.

Emme Colwell took the loss for the Tigerettes. She went 6 innings, allowing 4 runs on 8 hits, striking out 3 and walking none.

DeKalb County smacked one home run on the day, a long ball in the 3rd inning from Hatfield. It was one of 3 hits from her during the game. Megan Walker and Joni Robinson each had a hit.
