The DCHS Tigerettes lost 11 to 3 to Cookeville on Senior Day.
Cookeville scored 11 runs on 8 hits and made no errors. The Tigerettes scored 3 runs on 5 hits and made 6 errors.
The Lady Cavaliers scored 1 run in the 1st inning, 3 runs in the 3rd, 2 runs in the 4th, 4 runs in the 5th, and 1 run in the 7th.
DeKalb County scored 1 run in the 2nd and 2 runs in the 4th inning.
Cookeville got on the board in the 1st inning on an error which scored 1 run. The Tigerettes evened things up in the bottom of the 2nd inning as Emme Colwell hit a solo homer.
After Cookeville scored 2 runs in the top of the 4th, the Tigerettes answered with 2 of their own. Megan Walker tripled on the first pitch of the at bat, scoring 1 run and Colwell’s sac fly scored another run for the Tigerettes.
Cookeville pulled away for good with 3 runs in the 3rd inning followed by 4 runs in the 5th on a grand slam and 1 run in the 7th.
Madison Whitehead took the loss for DeKalb County. She went four and two-thirds innings, allowing 10 runs on 8 hits and striking out 3 and walking 6. Emme Colwell came in for two and a third innings and gave up 1 run and walked 1.
For the game, Emme Colwell had 2 hits and 2RBI including a homerun. Megan Walker had a hit and an RBI and Madison Whitehead and Braya Murphy each had a hit.
