Lady Tigers Take Down Cannon County

The DCHS Lady Tigers defeated Cannon County 56 to 43 in a district showdown in Smithville Friday night while Tigers lost to the Lions 61 to 53.

In the girls game, DC led 17 to 16 after the 1st period, 25 to 21 at halftime, and 39 to 35 after the 3rd period before going on to win 56 to 43.

Mya Ruch scored 17. Kadee Ferrell had 15. Megan Walker 10. Megan Cantrell 9 and Emme Colwell with 5.

The Tigers trailed 13 to 10 after the 1st period but grabbed a 23 to 19 halftime lead. The Lions took a 41 to 38 advantage after the 3rd period and went on to defeat the Tigers 61 to 53.

Evan Jones scored 12. Lucas Hale 11. Dakota White and Dallas Cook each scored 10. Brayden Antoniak 7 and Luke Jenkins with 3.

The Tigers have a record of 4-11 (1-3 in the district) while the Lady Tigers are now 9-7 and (2-2 in the district).
