Lady Tigers Cruise to Win over Jackson County, Tigers Lose to Blue Devils

The DeKalb County Lady Tigers cruised to a 66 to 20 win over Jackson County in Smithville Saturday night. The Tigers lost 52 to 49.

In the girls game DC led 16 to 4 after the 1st period, 39 to 6 at halftime, and 57 to 9 after the 3rd period before going on to win 66 to 20.

Joni Robinson scored 12, Kadee Ferrell 11, Emme Colwell 10, Mallori Hart 8, Lydia Brown 7, Megan Cantrell 6, Gracie Griffin 5, Maddison Parsley 3, and Kenzie France and Summer Crook each with 2 points.

The Lady Tigers, who also defeated Jackson County 71-22 last month,  improve to 9-2 overall.

The boys game was tied at 12 at the end of the 1st period. The Tigers led 25 to 24 at halftime and 39 to 37 after the 3rd period but lost 52 to 49.

Nathan Atkins scored 13, Josh Carlton 9, Dakota White 8, Dallas Cook 6, Isaac Walker 5, Hayden Thomas 4, and Brayden Howard and Evan Jones each with 2 points.

The Tigers, who lost to Jackson County 68 to 62 last month,  drop to 1-10 on the season.

DeKalb County travels to Monterey Tuesday night. Action begins with the girls game at 6 p.m. WJLE will have LIVE coverage.
