The DCHS basketball teams completed play Thursday in the AFLAC Shootout at Watertown with the Lady Tigers losing to Pearl Cohn 63 to 55 and the Tigers falling to Moore County 47 to 43.
The Lady Tigers were 2-1 during the tournament with wins over Community 59 to 53 on Tuesday and a 57 to 56 victory over Gallatin on Wednesday before the 63 to 55 loss to Pearl Cohn on Thursday.
The Tigers went 1-2 in the tournament with a 50 to 39 loss to Siegel on Tuesday, a 52 to 49 win over Community on Wednesday, and a 47 to 43 loss to Moore County on Thursday.
The DCHS teams will play host to Livingston Academy on Tuesday, January 4 starting with the girls’ game at 6 p.m. followed by the boys game. WJLE will have LIVE coverage. The Lady Tigers are 9-6 and the Tigers have a record of 8-6.
In the Thursday showdown, the Lady Tigers trailed Pearl Cohn 17 to 11 after the 1st period, 30 to 22 at halftime, and 44 to 35 after the 3rd period before losing 63 to 55.
Kadee Ferrell scored 15 followed by Avery Agee 11, Madison Martin 10, Ella VanVranken 8, Natalie Snipes 6, Cam Branin 3, and Ally Fuller 2.
For the boys, the Tigers trailed Moore County 7 to 5 after the 1st period but led 22 to 18 at halftime and 28 to 25 after the 3rd period before losing 47 to 43.
Conner Close scored 14, Elishah Ramos 9, Stetson Agee 6, Isaac Knowles and Jordan Young each with 5, Zack Birmingham 3, and Nathaniel Crook 1.
