Lady Tigers Secure 4th Place District Finish

The DeKalb County Lady Tigers have secured a 4th place district finish with a 45 to 32 win at Smith County Thursday night but the Tigers are in 7th place after losing to the Owls 61 to 33.

With the regular season now concluded, the team will be preparing for the District Tournament starting next week.

The Tigers completed the campaign at 6-21 (3-11 in the district) while the Lady Tigers finished 15-13 (7-7 in district play).

The Tigers found themselves behind 18 to 11 after the 1st period of the game Thursday night and they trailed the Owls 35 to 18 at halftime. Smith County led 50 to 26 after the 3rd period and won 61 to 33.

For the Tigers, Evan Jones scored 10. Dallas Cook 8, Dakota White and Stetson Agee each with 5. Elisha Ramos had 3 and Kylan Rhea with 2.

The Lady Tigers led 9 to 6 after the 1st period, 22 to 7 at halftime, and 37 to 14 after the 3rd period before claiming a 45 to 32 win.

Upperman Bees and Ladies Sting DCHS Again

The Upperman Bees and Lady Bees put a damper on Senior Night at DCHS Friday beating the local teams.
The Lady Tigers were beaten 51 to 39 while the Tigers suffered a stinging 78 to 48 defeat.

In the girls game, Upperman led 14 to 12 after the 1st period, 27 to 23 at halftime, and 47 to 32 after the 3rd period before going on to win over the Lady Tigers 51 to 39.

Kadee Ferrell scored 16. Megan Walker had 8. Emme Colwell and Mya Ruch each with 6 and Megan Cantrell 3.

The Tigers trailed the Bees 8 to 7 after the 1st period, 33 to 18 at halftime, and 55 to 27 after the 3rd period before losing 78 to 48.

Dallas Cook and Lucas Hale each scored 8. Rylan Rhea 6. Evan Jones and Elisha Ramos each with 5, Brayden Antoniak and Nathaniel Crook each with 4, Dakota White 3, Alan Munoz and Jordan Young each with 2 and Kylan Rhea 1.

The Tigers have a record of 6-19 (3-9 in the district) while the Lady Tigers are now 14-12 (6-6 in district play).

DCHS will close out the regular season with games at Macon County Tuesday night, February 11 and at Smith County on Thursday, February 13. The girls games start at 6 p.m. followed by the boys contests and WJLE will have LIVE coverage.




Lady Tigers Complete Season Sweep of Cannon County

The DCHS Lady Tigers completed a season sweep of Cannon County Tuesday night as they defeated the Lionettes at Woodbury 39 to 38. DC had knocked off Cannon County last month 56 to 43 in Smithville.

The Lions returned the favor beating the Tigers 75 to 43 Tuesday night in Woodbury . Cannon County also defeated the Tigers last month in Smithville 61 to 53.

For the girls in Tuesday night’s game, DC led 11 to 7 after the 1st period, 21 to 18 at halftime, and 30 to 25 after the 3rd period before going on to win 39 to 38.

Tigers Lose Feline Fight with Watertown

The DCHS Lady Tigers enjoyed a 53 to 50 victory over Watertown but the Tigers suffered 64 to 48 defeat at the hands of the Purple Tigers Friday night in Smithville.

In the girls game the Lady Tigers trailed 16 to 15 after the 1st period. The game was tied at 26 by halftime. DC took a 42 to 39 lead at the end of the 3rd period and went onto win 53 to 50.

Kadee Ferrell scored 13. Emme Colwell 10, Mya Ruch and Megan Walker each had 8, Kenzie France 6, Megan Cantrell 5 and Gracie Griffin 3.

The Tigers led 16 to 15 after the 1st period of the boys game and 26 to 24 at halftime. Watertown grabbed a 39 to 36 lead after the 3rd period went on to claim a 64 to 48 victory.

Lady Tigers Get Rare Win at Livingston Academy

The DCHS Lady Tigers got a rare victory at Livingston Academy Tuesday night winning 45 to 35 but the Tigers suffered a 68 to 52 loss to the Wildcats.

The Lady Tigers led 19 to 16 after the 1st period, 30 to 22 at halftime, and 36 to 26 after the 3rd period before winning 45 to 35.

Kadee Ferrell scored 16 followed by Emme Colwell and Mya Ruch each with 9, Gracie Griffin 6, Megan Cantrell 3, and Megan Walker with 2.

The Tigers trailed 14 to 11 after the 1st period, 32 to 20 at halftime, and 46 to 33 after the 3rd period before falling to the wildcats 68 to 52.

Lucas Hale scored 14, Luke Jenkins 10, Brayden Antoniak 8, Elisha Ramos 6, Evan Jones 5, Jordan Young 4, Isaac Brown 3, and Stetson Agee 2.

The Tigers have a record of 6-16 (3-6 in the district) while the Lady Tigers are now 12-11 and (4-5 in the district).
