Tigerettes Rally for Win Over Smith County

Trailing 9 to 3 the DCHS Tigerettes rallied for 9 runs in the 5th inning and went on to defeat Smith County 13 to 10 Tuesday.

The game was tied at 9 with DeKalb County batting in the bottom of the 5th when Kenzie France doubled scoring 2 runs.

Megan Walker collected 4 hits in 5 at bats to help lead the Tigerettes to the victory. Walker singled in the 1st, 3rd, and 5th innings. She also tripled in the 5th.

DeKalb County scored 13 runs on 12 hits and made 4 errors. Smith County scored 10 runs on 10 hits and made 3 errors.

The Tigerettes scored 2 runs in the 1st inning, 1 run in the 3rd, 9 runs in the 5th, and 1 run in the 6th. Smith County scored 7 runs in the 2nd inning, 2 runs in the 4th, and 1 run in the 6th inning.

Madison Whitehead got the win for the Tigerettes. She surrendered 1 run on 3 hits over three and two-thirds innings, striking out 4 and walking 2.

France started the game for DeKalb County. She went three and a third innings, allowing 9 runs on 7 hits, striking out 3 and walking 1.

For the game Emme Colwell had 3 hits including a homerun and 5 RBI. Megan Walker with 4 hits and 2 RBI. Kenzie France 2 hits and 2 RBI. Joni Robinson 2 hits and Jacey Hatfield with 1 hit. Maddison Parsley had an RBI.
