79 year old Jean Harney of Smithville passed away Friday at her home. She was a retired school teacher and a member of the Jacobs Pillar Methodist Church. The funeral will be Sunday at 3 p.m. at the Chapel of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. Royce Martin and Chad Ramsey will officiate and burial will be in Whorton Springs Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday from 4-8 p.m. and Sunday from 11 a.m. until the service at 3 p.m. She was preceded in death by her husband, Mack Harney, Jr.; parents, C.H and Bernice Malone; and a sister and brother-in-law, Billie Ann and Johnny Frazier. Survivors include two children, Mack and Sandy Harney of Smithville and Mary and Billy Hooper of Smithville. Four grandchildren, John Harney of Smithville, Michael Hooper of Murfreesboro, Jessica Harney of Chattanooga, and Kate Hooper and Adam Rodrigues of Raleigh, North Carolina. One brother, Boyd Malone of Oak Ridge. Two sisters, Peggy and husband Jeff Pearson of Travels Rest, South Carolina, and Judy Malone of Cookeville.
