Donna Sue Braswell Lawson age 77, passed away Friday morning September 10, 2021 at her home in Dowelltown. She was born October 19, 1943 to her parents, the late Johnny Austin and Maggie Braswell. In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by sisters, Faye Smith and Sandra Houk. Mrs. Lawson was a member of the Pentecostal Church and worked at DeKalb County Bank for 22 years and was a homemaker. She is survived by her husband, Tony Lawson of Dowelltown; daughter, Teresa (Brad) Murphy of Sparta; grandchildren, Logan (Angela) Murphy of Smithville, Tanya Murphy of Sparta, Elijah (Reba) Murphy of Sparta, Zachariah (Lindsey) Murphy of Sparta, Andrew (Brianna) Murphy of Sparta; great-grandchildren, Emma and Lena Murphy of Smithville and Eli Houchin of Sparta; brother, James (Ruth) Pirtle of Smithville; father and mother-in-law, Toy and Faye Lawson of Liberty; nephews, Anthony Adcock and Danny (Melissa) Pirtle; niece, Judy Pirtle Hale; brother-in-law, Gary Lawson; sisters-in-law, Wanda Duggin, Patsy Whitaker and Rachel (Phillip) Bandy; several nieces and nephews also survive. Funeral services will be 3:00 PM Sunday September, 12, 2021 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Zachariah Murphy and Bro. Toy Lawson officiating and burial to follow in Keith Cemetery. Visitation will be Saturday 4:00PM till 7:00PM and Sunday 10:00AM until the time of the service at 3:00PM. Due to COVID the funeral home lounge is closed at this time and NO food or drinks are allowed in the funeral home. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
