Billie Braswell Simpson age 85, of Smithville passed away Friday, May 12, 2023 at Alive Hospice in Murfreesboro. She was born September 25, 1937 to her parents, the late Edgar and Ora Hale Anderson; In addition to her parents she was preceded in death by husbands, Franklin Braswell, George Bing, Ray Simpson; brothers, Clifton Melton and Charles Anderson; sister, Irene Roberts. Ms. Billie was member of New Life United Pentecostal Church and worked in Landscaping and was a Homemaker. She is survived by 3 children, Dallas (Beth) Braswell of Murfreesboro, Anita Braswell of Smithville, and Michelle (Shane) Walker of Smithville; 5 grandchildren, Stacey Wood and Kelly Chapman of Smithville, Chloe Braswell of Cookeville, Thomas Braswell and Michael Braswell of Murfreesboro; 6 great-grandchildren also survive; brother, E L (Brenda) Anderson of Liberty; sister, Fay Armstrong of Woodbury. Funeral service will be 1:PM Tuesday, May 16, 2023 at DeKalb Funeral Chapel with Bro. Dwayne Cornelius, Bro. Keith Huling and Dallas Braswell officiating and burial to follow in DeKalb Memorial Gardens. Visitation will be Monday 4:PM until 7:PM and on Tuesday 10:AM until the time of the service at 1:PM. DeKalb Funeral Chapel is in charge of arrangements.
