DeKalb School District Scores “Satisfactory” Rating Based on TNReady Assessment Results

DeKalb County School District’s 2019 test results have been released and reflect a Satisfactory rating. The test scores are generated from the TNReady assessment which is based on the state testing system for 3rd through 12th grades. Result highlights for DeKalb County students and teachers based on last year’s testing results are as follows:

DeKalb County High School Rate: Graduation Rate and Ready Graduate

(ACT requirements and Early Post-Secondary Opportunities) Rate: 3 out of 4

DeKalb West School Achievement Rate: 4 out of 5

DeKalb Middle School Numeracy Rate: 5 out of 5

Northside Elementary School Literacy Rate: 3 out of 5

Smithville Elementary School Portfolio Rate: Data not released from TN State Department

The school district’s future goal is to improve the Satisfactory determination rate to an Advancing determination rate for the 2019-2020 school year. Plans are in place to increase that rating by examining our practices, reviewing the curriculum, and meeting the individualized needs of students and teachers.
