Another successful season for the DeKalb County Tigerettes has come to a close. The local team lost at Chattanooga Central 3 to 1 Saturday in the Sectionals.
DeKalb County scored one run in the six inning. Central scored one run in the first and two runs in the fifth inning.
Morgan Page, the losing pitcher, gave up three runs on four hits through six innings. She struck out five, walked two, and hit two batters.

The Tigerettes compiled an outstanding record this year at 39-10 overall, a perfect regular season 10-0 district record, and a district tournament championship.
The DeKalb County Tiger baseball team made history Saturday.
With a 3 to 0 shutout of McMinn Central in the sub-state in Smithville, the Tigers become the first DCHS baseball team in the history of the program to advance to the state tournament.
In the game Saturday, DeKalb County scored two runs in the first inning and one run in the sixth.
Cody Puckett had a great day on the mound, pitching a one hit shutout through six innings. He struck out ten and walked six. Garrett Hoke, the closer, came in for the last inning, faced three batters and struck out three.

The DeKalb County Tigers claimed the Region Tournament Championship Wednesday by beating the Smith County Owls 7 to 1 in Smithville.
DeKalb County scored two runs in the third inning, four runs in the fourth, and one run in the sixth inning.

The DeKalb County Tiger Baseball Team will face McMinn Central on Saturday, May 22nd at 5:00 p.m. in the Sub-State at the DCHS baseball field in Smithville. The game was originally scheduled for Friday, May 21st at 4:30 p.m. but has been postponed due to the weather.
The DeKalb County High School Tigerette fast pitch softball team lost 4 to 3 to Bledsoe County in the Regional Tournament Championship game Wednesday at Pikeville.
The Lady Warriors scored two runs in the first inning and two runs in the third inning. DeKalb County scored three runs in the third inning.
Olivia Norton, the losing pitcher, went two innings and gave up four runs on six hits. She walked one. Morgan Page, the closer, went four innings and gave up three hits. She struck out four.

The DeKalb County Tigers eliminated Chattanooga Christian 11 to 4 Tuesday in Smithville to advance to the finals of the Region 4AA baseball tournament.
The Tigers will host Smith County today (Wednesday) at 6:00 p.m. at the DCHS baseball field in Smithville.

The DeKalb County Tigerettes shutout Sequatchie County 3 to 0 in the Regional Tournament Semi-Finals Monday in Smithville and will travel to Bledsoe County Wednesday for the Region Finals.
Game time will be 6:00 p.m.

Jodi Curtis, a member of the Class of 2010 and an outstanding member of the DeKalb County High School Soccer Team has received a $32,000 athletic scholarship and a $4,000 academic scholarship from Freed-Hardeman University to play soccer
Curtis signed with the school after Friday's senior awards day program at DCHS. In addition to Curtis and Freed-Hardeman Head Coach Jason Elliott, Curtis' mom Pam Curtis was on hand for the signing along with DCHS Soccer coach Dylan Klerparek, Rhonda Merriman, Director of Schools Mark Willoughby, and DCHS Principal Kathy Hendrix.

The DeKalb County Tigers captured the district tournament championship Wednesday night with a 10 to 7 victory over Smith County at Baxter.
The Tigers will play host to Chattanooga Christian in the Region Tournament Monday at 5:00 p.m. in Smithville.
In the game Wednesday night, DeKalb County scored one run in the first inning, one run in the second, one run in the fourth, three runs in the fifth, and four runs in the sixth inning.
Smith County scored two runs in the sixth and five runs in the seventh inning.
Cody Puckett, the winning pitcher, went six innings and faced twenty four batters. He gave up two earned runs on four hits. He struck out thirteen, walked one and hit a batter.
Hunter Graham, the relief pitcher, came in for two thirds of an inning and faced seven batters. He gave up five runs, four of which were earned, on one hit. He struck out one and walked four.
McCullough Wallace, the closer, went a third of an inning and faced two batters. He walked one.
