Owls Get Revenge on Tigers

The Smith County Owls, after getting shutout by the Tigers 14-0 in five innings in Smithville Monday, got a measure of revenge Tuesday at Carthage beating DeKalb County 5 to 2.

Smith County scored four runs in the first inning and one run in the third inning. DeKalb County scored one run in the second inning and one run in the fifth inning.

Hunter Graham, the losing pitcher, went 2.33 innings and gave up five runs on three hits. He struck out three and walked six. Stephen Page gave up three hits through 3.67 innings. He struck out four and walked one.

The Tigers only had three hits in the game from Hunter Graham, Stephen Page, and Seth Stanley.

Tigerettes Record Back to Back Shutouts at York Institute

The DeKalb County Tigerettes swept both games of a district doubleheader at York Institute Tuesday in Jamestown winning 9 to 0 and 12 to 0.

In the first game, DC scored four runs in the first and second innings and one run in the fourth inning. The Tigerettes scored nine runs on nine hits and made no errors.

Shauna Taylor pitched a two hit shutout with four strikeouts in getting the win.

Puckett Pitches Perfect Game Against Owls

Cody Puckett pitched a perfect five inning game Monday, striking out nine without allowing a base runner in a 14-0 DeKalb County blowout of the Smith County Owls in Smithville.

It was Puckett's second career no hitter at DCHS. He now moves to 3-1 on the year after the Tigers lit up last seasons District MVP Jordan Craighead for 10 runs in only two thirds of an inning.

DC scored ten runs in the first inning, one run in the third, and three runs in the fourth inning.

Evan Curtis started things off with a 2 run homerun, the first homerun of his career, and Hunter Graham ended the first inning scoring a towering 2 run homerun to left center.

DeKalb Men's Soccer Team Places Third in Franklin County Rebel Classic

The DeKalb County Men's Soccer Team traveled to Winchester, Tn to play in the Franklin County Rebel Classic Tournament April 6-7. The Tigers won 1st place in their pool by defeating D1 AAA Teams Lawrence County and Lincoln County, which put them in the semi-finals on Sunday.

They were defeated by Henry County in their final match, and placed 3rd overall out of 11 teams. The Tigers return to district play this week with matchups at Cannon County and at Central Magnet.

Tigers Get Two Wins Saturday

The DeKalb County Tigers defeated Moore County 8 to 0 and Fayetteville 13 to 1 on Saturday in the County Line Border Battle at Eagleville.

In the game with Moore County, DC scored one run in the first, second, and third innings, two runs in the fourth, and three runs in the fifth inning

Devin Summers pitched a two hit shutout through six innings and struck out six to get the win.. Cason Oakley came in for one inning and struck out one

Evan Curtis, A.J. Mooneyham, Aaron Patterson, John Roller, and Devin Summers each had a hit in the game.

Tigerettes Lose First District Game of Season

The Tigerettes lost their first district game of the season Saturday at Baxter against the Upperman Lady Bees. The final score was 5 to 3.

Upperman scored three runs in the fifth inning and two runs in the sixth. The Tigerettes scored all three runs in the seventh inning.

DeKalb County scored three runs on eight hits and made one error. Upperman scored five runs on fourteen hits and made no errors.

Lauren Colwell was the losing pitcher.

Tigers Outslug Gordonsville 10-3

The DeKalb County Tigers won the battle of the felines with a 10 to 3 victory over the Gordonsville Tigers in the County Line Border Battle at Eagleville Friday.

DeKalb County scored one run in the first inning, two runs in the third, four runs in the fourth, two runs in the fifth, and one run in the sixth inning. Gordonsville scored three runs in the third inning.

John Roller pitched three scoreless innings to get the win. He gave up two hits and struck out five. Stephen Page went three innings and gave up three earned runs on three hits. He struck out one and walked one.

Hunter Graham had 2 hits and 4 RBI. Devin Summers, Evan Curtis, John Roller, and Cody Puckett each had a hit in the game.

Tigerettes Sweep Grundy County in Doubleheader

The Tigerettes swept both games of a double header at Grundy County Friday, winning 13 to 1 and 11 to 0.

In the first game, DeKalb County scored 13 runs on 15 hits and made one error. Grundy County scored one run on two hits and made two errors. Shauna Taylor, the winning pitcher, struck out two.

DC scored three runs in the second inning and ten runs in the third. Grundy County scored one run in the first inning.

Tigers Complete Season Sweep of Murfreesboro Central Magnet

The DeKalb County Tigers completed a regular season sweep of Murfreesboro Central Magnet Tuesday evening with an 11 to 5 win in Smithville. The Tigers won 3-0 on Monday at Murfreesboro.

In the game Tuesday, DeKalb County scored five runs in the first inning, four runs in the third, and two runs in the sixth inning. Central Magnet scored two runs in the fourth and fifth innings and one run in the sixth.

Hunter Graham, the winning pitcher, gave up four runs on two hits and struck out four through five innings. He walked five. Devin Summers came in for one and two thirds innings and gave up one run on four hits. He struck out two and walked one. Stephen Page finished the game and struck out one.

Hunter Graham belted a grand slam homerun in the third inning. Cody Puckett, Seth Stanley, Aaron Patterson, and Alex Hall each had two hits. Evan Curtis and Stephen Page each had a hit.

Puckett Strikes Out Fifteen in Tiger Shutout of Central Magnet

Tiger pitcher Cody Puckett struck out fifteen and allowed only one hit in a 3 to 0 shutout win for DeKalb County at Central Magnet in Murfreesboro on Monday.

DeKalb County scored two runs in the first inning and one run in the sixth.

Hunter Graham had a homerun and a single. Steven Page and Seth Stanley each singled in the game
