The DeKalb County Tigers suffered another district loss Monday, falling to the Smith County Owls in Smithville 4 to 2.
The Tigers scored one run in the first inning and one in the fifth inning. The Owls scored one run in the first inning, one in the third, one in the sixth, and one in the seventh inning.
Cody Puckett, the losing pitcher, faced thirty three batters through seven innings and gave up four runs on seven hits. He struck out fifteen and walked six.

The DeKalb County Tigerettes went 3-2 in the Gordonsville Tournament held Friday and Saturday at Cane Creek Sportsplex in Cookeville.
In pool play games the Tigerettes defeated White County 5-0, lost to Daniel Boone 8 to 2, and beat Collierville 3 to 2. During the single elimination portion of the tournament, the Tigerettes shutout Livingston Academy 10 to 0 and lost to Leyden 11 to 2
In the game with White County, DC scored two runs in the second inning and three runs in the third.

DeKalb will play at Cannon County on Tuesday at 4:30 p.m.
The DeKalb West Dawgs lost to the Cannon County Lions 4 to 0 on Friday, March 23 at home. The Dawgs only reached base five times during the five inning game. Jacob Self reached on an error by the Cannon County's short stop. Joey Moon drew a walk twice and Noah Parsley reached base twice, once as he was hit by the pitcher. He drew a walk in his last at bat. Cannon County's pitcher struck out 7 of the Dawgs batters.
Sam McMillen was the losing pitcher. He pitched four full innings. McMillen struck out eight Cannon County batters, walked one batter and he gave up five hits and two earned runs. AJ Mooneyham came in the top of the fifth inning to close the game where he struck out one batter, he gave up three hits and two earned runs. The final score was DeKalb West Dawgs 0, Cannon County 4.
