The DeKalb County Tigers punched their ticket to the next round of the play-offs Friday night with a 39 to 21 win over the Sequoyah Chiefs in Smithville.
The DeKalb County Tigers will host the Sequoyah Chiefs in the first round of the 2012 Division I BlueCross Bowl Class 4A Football Playoffs next Friday night, November 2 at 7:00 p.m. in Smithville. WJLE will have LIVE coverage of the game.
The DeKalb County Tigers lost at Livingston Academy 35-13 in the regular season finale Friday night. DC finishes 9-1 overall and 4-1 in the district. Livingston Academy also concludes the season at 9-1 and claimed the district championship at 5-0. Both teams have qualified for the state play-offs beginning next Friday night.
The DeKalb County High School Basketball season gets underway in November.

The DeKalb County Tigers are just one win away from a perfect 10-0 regular season. For the first time since 1979, the DCHS football program has compiled a 9-0 record for the season. The latest victory, 47-7 came Friday night against the Upperman Bees at Baxter.
Mallory Sullivan finished tied for 14th in the girls Class A/AA state golf tournament at Willowbrook in Manchester Wednesday.
The DCHS Junior shot 84 on Tuesday and 86 on Wednesday for a total score of 170. It was her third straight state tournament appearance. Sullivan finished in second place last year.
DeKalb County junior Mallory Sullivan is scheduled to compete this week in the Class A/AA state golf tournament at Willowbrook in Manchester.
Sullivan finished second with an 82 in the Region 4-A/AA tournament last Wednesday at The Bear Trace at Harrison Bay to qualify for the state tournament
The state appearance is the third-straight for Sullivan.
The DCHS Tigers rolled to a 45-7 win over Macon County Friday on Senior Night to run their season record to 8-0.
Macon County remains winless at 0-7.
The DeKalb County Tigers won the battle of the unbeatens Friday night with a 47 to 19 thumping of the York Institute Dragons in Smithville.
With the win, the Tigers improve to 7-0 overall and 3-0 in the district.
Will Molander accounted for four of the Tiger touchdowns. Lucas Phillips scored twice and Sonni Fullilove caught a touchdown pass.
It's been a busy couple of weeks in the world of Lady Tiger Soccer. At one point, the Tigers had five games in six days! Coach K and the Tigers opened this stretch of games with one of the biggest victories in the history of the Lady Tiger soccer Program. On September 11th, the Lady Tigers traveled to Overton County to face rival Livingston Academy.
