Bees Sting Tigers 14-3 in Smithville

The DeKalb County Tigers suffered their first loss of the season Wednesday evening falling to the Upperman Bees 14 to 3 in a district showdown at Smithville.

The Tigers scored two runs in the fourth inning and one run in the sixth inning. The Bees scored two runs in the first inning, six runs in the fourth inning, and six runs in the sixth inning.

Tigers Swat Yellow Jackets 11-2

The DeKalb County Tigers won a showdown with the Grundy County Yellow Jackets in Smithville Saturday. The final score was 11 to 2.

The Tigers scored two runs in the first inning, one run in the second, third, and fifth innings and six runs in the sixth inning. Grundy County scored one run in the fifth and one run in the sixth inning.

Lewis and Atnip Receive DCHS Basketball MVP Awards, Cantrell Named MVC

Seniors Chelsea Lewis and Braxton Atnip were named the 2013 DCHS basketball Most Valuable Players Thursday night at the annual team banquet, while Senior Kaylee Cantrell was selected as the Most Valuable Cheerleader. The awards were presented by Chad Kirby of Love-Cantrell Funeral Home. The MVP and MVC awards are named in memory Chad's grandfather, Allen D. Hooper.

Tigers Sweep Wildcats

The DeKalb County Tigers won both games of a double header against Livingston Academy Tuesday night in Smithville, 3 to 0 and 18 to 11

In the first game, DC scored one run in the second inning and two runs in the fourth.

Cody Puckett, faced twenty four batters through seven innings, pitching a one hit shutout. He struck out fourteen and walked two.
