The DeKalb County Tigers won a close game at Livingston Academy Tuesday night 56 to 55 while the Lady Tigers went to overtime before falling to the Lady Wildcats 47 to 45
In the boys game the Tigers trailed 23 to 13 after the first period and 28 to 27 by halftime. The Wildcats led 43 to 41 after the third period but in the final quarter, the Tigers outscored Livingston Academy 15 to 12 and won 56 to 55.
Stephen Howell had 24 to pace the Tigers in scoring. Braxton Atnip 12, Sonni Fullilove 10, Lucas Phillips 4, and Zach Vincent and Ethan Roller each had 3 points.
The Lady Tigers trailed 12 to 5 after the first period of their game and found themselves ten points behind 24 to 14 by halftime. But in the third quarter, DC outscored the Lady Wildcats 14 to 10 to cut the Livingston Academy lead to six points, 34 to 28 heading into the fourth quarter. In the final period of regulation, the Lady Tigers continued their rally, outscoring Livingston Academy 12 to 6 to send the game into overtime tied at 40. The Lady Wildcats outlasted DC in OT and won 47 to 45.
Loren Cripps scored 20 for the Lady Tigers. Chelsea Lewis had 13. Paige Winningham 9 and Ashley Barnes with 3.
