The DeKalb County Tigers won in another close game Tuesday night, this time defeating the Livingston Academy Wildcats 67 to 65 on the road. The Lady Tigers lost 79 to 35.
For the boys, the Tigers led 18 to 13 after the first period and 38 to 36 at halftime, as the Wildcats outscored DC 23 to 20 in the second quarter. Livingston Academy pulled ahead 52 to 51 by the end of the third quarter, outscoring DC 16 to 13. But in the fourth period, the Tigers jumped back out front and won 67 to 65, outscoring the Wildcats 16 to 13.
Sonni Young had 28 points to lead the Tigers to the win. Stephen Howell had 15. Will Molander 11. Braxton Atnip 7 and Eli Lomas 6.
In the girls game, Livingston Academy took control early, outscoring DC 17 to 5 in the first period and 21 to 7 in the second quarter building a 38 to 12 halftime advantage. The Lady Wildcats outscored DC 17 to 8 in the third period and led 55 to 20 after three. In the fourth period, Livingston Academy outpaced DC 24 to 15 and won 79 to 35.
Alex Meadows scored 13 for the Lady Tigers. Chelsea Lewis and Danielle Tyson each scored 8 while Samantha Sircy, Ashley Barnes, and Loren Cripps each scored 2.
DeKalb County will be at Gordonsville Thursday night and host Upperman on Friday night.
